Am I mental? Powerplay is really amazing right now

Perhaps I need stronger medication, but Powerplay for me is really hitting the spot:

In Utopia we have a grand project for a deep space colony along with Sirius, a shadowy group who so far have helped us expand, this same group might be turning on fellow Utopians in a chilling twist, climbing to number 9, and the prospect of further gains.

It's been a rollercoaster of desperation, joy, disappointment, intrigue, mystery....the grind has disappeared into the background as some role play takes over.

We have action, suspense, deception and.......fun.

I know I'm going to be wrapped up in loony foil for saying it but I'm really liking Powerplay right now.

Awesome. It's great to hear about someone enjoying their time in game, especially with PP. Giving things time to develop is not the strong suit of interweb dwellers.

All is as it should be. We are exposing the shadows. And so far The Many seems to be just one sad guy with nothing interesting to say.

No, you are not a loony, you are just special :).

But seriously:
Over time we will see all kinds of tweaks and improvements to PP.
FD already mentioned a few. It is a work in progress. I believe it will get there.
I think many naysayers will learn to appreciate what PP is adding when it gets better.
Currently the punishing and demotivating merit decay is still a problem for me.
In general I believe PP adds a very necessary political framework and it has certainly given a face to otherwise anonymous star systems.
It has changed the way I see this ED universe and that is very positive as far as I am concerned.

I'm in a similar boat. I avoided pledging to a power until the last couple of weeks, then joined Aisling to participate in Operation Davy Jones... and I've been pleasantly surprised to find I'm enjoying it immensely.

The only downside is that I can't seem to find Archon CMDRs opposing Davy Jones anywhere... so it gets a tad lonely.

So, you like, played the game, not just to get some piece of equipment or obtain some rank as fast as possible, like just to play it....like a game? And you had fun? Hmmm, imagine that....

To hell with the module! I never wanted them anyway- it's the politics and interplay that make it in my book.

Everything has context, and you can actually be someone other than a faceless credit hungry trader.

I'm not super fond of the PP mechanics, eventhough I do love how it gives identities to various regions.
But what truly makes it enjoyable, is the player communities growing around it, and the interactions between those communities.
I've lived some really exciting moments since PP came out.

Totally with you on that Duke. The internal politics and external politics and role-playing aspect can be incredible fun.

I am having a hard time choosing a power, I have been really hesitant to join, but mostly because I have a loosely defined personality for my pilot and he's a loyal type, so once the choice is made, that'll be an end. Unless of course the power goes against my principles, then there will be vengeance!

To OP, cool you like it :)

I may like it one day as well, certainly I am one of the people that thinks it should stay in the game.
