Am I missing something or is this ED in a nutshell?

Wait, isn't this the same mission as the new Ram Tah mission that are broken anyways (only read about them in the bug forums)? Where the timer ends long before its expected deadline? If so then we'd have a triple bummer here. That's a record I guess. :p

I think sleutelbos is referring to the blueprint missions where you <thing> the <things> and use the <thing> to unlock the floaty <thing>.

It's the Obelisk missions that expire, at the same site but different mission.

What's really funny is that you need separate blueprints for the fixed and turreted weapons. I guess our human designed mounting are not up to the task.

But, why are we surprised that it's another grind?

Most of the 'grind' IMHO can be phrased as 'it comes over time by just playing'. Especially with the traders. But noone does the same 'puzzle' at the same place, 500LY from the bubble, 'just while playing'. Many things to me aren't a grind in the strict sense of the word: you can typically get it in multiple ways, by doing missions, and just 'freeform it'. This, however, falls squarely in the 'get me a stupid number of rares to unlock my engineer blueprints even though there is zero challenge, thought or skill required nor are there any alternatives' category.

There is a difference between 'slow progress' and 'grind', and this is a grind. Which is kinda where I draw the line myself. :p

No, I didnt. Maybe because I bought this game before there were reviews...

My condolences.
The game is about as grindy as it gets if you want to actually do anything. And it won't be fun. Took me an entire season of Star Trek Enterpeise just to get my Cutter. I kind of regret doing it bwcause there's no end game so now I just wander in a 300mil CR ship.

Seems to be the case all too often.

The original Ram Tah mission lost its shine long LONG before I'd finished it!
Collecting unknown fragments? Was cool the 1st couple of UA's... but after that? zzzzzzzzzz

I'm actually in the process of doing this mission. I thought all I had to do was scan three ruins and solve the puzzles and collect 30 mil. Am I wrong?

I went to two of the three Guardian ruins mentioned by galnet. Cool, I can now find stuff just using in-game info! Both look great, one reminds me of Machu Pichu, pretty pic stuff. Me=happy. There is some stuff to do, some risk, and it works without bugs. Well done FD! Then I notice I get one specific data thingy after completing the mini-puzzle. Not three, just one. And I need 22 to unlock the three modules that require them. Then I need four more of the other thingy at the other base. Am I correct that FD puts in two cool locations, adds a unique 'quest', finally adds all needed info in-game, and then messes up by expecting me to do this 24 more times?

If so, could some community manager who reads this please tell Sandro et al. that 'now do this n-number of times' is not good game design? I for one am not going to do that. It turns what started as a cool experience into a chore. 'now do it 24 more times' doesn't add to the fun. It diminishes it.

So you want an I win button? You grinders who just want everything given to them practically overnight really get my goat! Take some advice, pal; quit grinding and just let it come to you organically.

He bought the game the day it came out is what he means. Why is this so hard to understand lol.

It’s NOT like saying that my sister-in-laws wedding is this weekend and ppl say WAIT HUH!?!

I actually wonder quite a lot, when they're sitting down designing gameplay.. Are they smoking wierd stuff.. Most it makes no logical sense from a 'keep the player happy' point of view. It seem like they get an idea, and think, "Ok, guys I like this, now, how can we really annoy the playerbase with this?"

Or, naybe it's a case of, 'we have nothing better lets stretch this sh*t out as much as we can' :D

Crayons. Burnt Sienna. :)

You can grind quickly or slowly. either way, you have to do the same thing 300 times.

No one said they wanted this.
No one wants your stupid goat.
Quit telling people how to play.
Grinding = Pure Joy to some ppl

What is it with you white knights?!?! This game doesn't respect my time, I have a job, two wives, seven kids and a gentleman I occasionally see when my wives are planning a wholesome family outing! Kids like you dont realize how easy you have it, while my generation works our back of to provide you lot with everything we never had you try to shame me for actually trying to have FUN with a GAME I bought with my own hard earned money?! Ha, enjoy your grind son, when you're flippin' my burger ten years from now you wish the grind would have been less and you could have focused your energy on learning all seven major rivers of Paraguay at school instead!
