That this game would be more exciting if FD put things into the game and didn't tell us....?
Hear me out..Remember when we were kids, and we got a game from a magazine cover or off our mates and we played it, and we knew the general idea but we didn't really know what was in it, and months into the game you'd discover something you didn't even realise existed, how fun and exciting that was?
Lets use Thargoids as an example; I've no idea if they are going to include them in the game but if they did, i think they should start them out deep in the black, a rare sighting as they start to move into populated space over the course of a year, and i think they shouldn't tell us they have done it, no word no update not even mention it. Imagine how much more exciting it would be to hear someone come on the forum swearing that they were just attacked by an alien capital ship they have never seen before...Later on down the line its reported again this time with screenshots/video? Or imagine you are the one exploring deep out in the black when all of a sudden an enormous alien ship bears down on you and you didn't even realise it was in the game?
The same could be said for planets, add things to planets but don't tell us, the excitement of landing on planets isn't going to be "ok i know i might find this this this this and this, lets see what i get" but more landing with the mindset "i could literally find anything down here and i've no idea what it might be".
Obviously any mechanical changes need announcing through patch notes etc but i think ED is the kind of game that would benefit immensely from stealth additions that we, the pilots, discover and discuss amongst ourselves.
