Ammo limits back

If NPCs get unlimited rails and unlimited multicannons, then it won't break the game to give it to players.

With the number of other unrealistic things done in this game "for gameplay", I'm surprised ammo still exists.

I seriously hope you poeple just do it to humour the OP and not actually considering an unlimited ammo to be a good thing.

For all that's shiny, if you want an unlimited ammo, just equip some lasers. Put a mod on them, if you want...

And your power-plant is powered by miracles.
And your life-support system is powered by miracles.

No they are ultimately (directly in the case of your power plant) powered by fuel.

I can't even be bothered reading another seven pages of your nonsensical utterings after this post, so I have no idea whether or not you eventually accepted that every other thing you mentioned in the posts prior to the above are in fact all powered by resources which you are required to collect and that this is both logical and entirely commonplace in gaming.

Instead, I'll just leave you this. Dry your eyes little one.

Multi cannons need ammo. That makes sense. Your power plant is powered by your fuel. I can't even believe this. It's nuts. This may not be the game for you OP if you hate everything about it so much. Maybe try star citizen or no man's sky or something. That may be the issue. But mc's should need ammo. Godspeed all cmdr's.

groups dynamics are really fun.

In all honestly, what we have here is a plain and simple case of... mobbing in his pure meaning.

Op has shared his vision: you can accet it or you can't.

It's not wrong or right.

Having said that some interesting question and answer came out from discussion: I didn't know Fd were working about ammo storage - which will give you the same effect of (almost) unlimited ammo.

Also: it is interesting that people use Real reference to defend a choice Fd did only for gameplay reason.

Honestly I ("I" underlined ten thousand times) don't consider grind going to a station to resupply

But.

Before 2.1 I never used Ammo weapons because of that (ammo stocking); now things are different becauseof the improved hull and Mc became a reasonable choice if you want finish a combat in reasonable time.

And here come the OP's opinion which is all but absurd.

Definitly he didn't deserved what he got...

Besides, the multicannons have always used ammo. Them being glitches was the cause for unlimited ammo. It's fixed. Back to how it's been since the beginning. This whole thread is crazy. What's happening to everyone?

When I played Dungeon Seige, bows had unlimited arrows. When I played Diablo 2, you had to carry an inventory full of arrows. It's just a design choice either way. While unlimited arrows is less realistic, it's more fun. You wouldn't do it in a true medieval sim, but maybe in a dungeon crawler it's ok. Since Elite isn't a sim, unlimited ammo would be justified for gameplay reasons.

it should be about players choice, freedom to play the game their 'own' way.
Especially in solo, many games you can tick the 'unlimited' ammo box and go play.
In open I can see the case for limited ammo but why not then have 'limited' laser energy cells...whatever.

“If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is compromise.”;)

That might be true if solo was completely separate from open, but it isn't. If it were, I'd be right there with you but the fact is solo just means you have zero chance of encountering other people, yet you're in the "same" universe and it's only a menu button that keeps you from hopping between them. This means you would be gaining an unfair advantage over everyone else who chooses not to do so. The major disadvantage of ammo based weapons is the ammo count. What you are suggesting is arcade mode. Sure, put one in, but it shouldn't count towards anything in the main game; not combat rank nor $$ from bounties.

Yeah, sure ammo limit is bad :D
FD please give us back unlimited ammo and also against NPCs unlimited shields, insta kill, wallhack (I mean spacehack :p )

Are you being sarcastic?

I know that Poe's Law can be very perplexing. The way I deal with it is very simple. I just assume whatever anyone ever says is deathly serious and post my replies under that assumption. If anyone responds to my posting with "Dude! I wan't being serious", then I just say that my reply wasn't serious either.
