First things first, for those of you who do not know what contested systems are:
It's when two control spheres from two different powers overlap to the extent in which an exploited system falls in the overlapping. This system is said to be contested and has its CC income turned into an upkeep value (so instead of benefiting say 5CC to each powers, the contested system now costs 5CC)
A tiny idea I just had:
What if the CC income of contested systems changed according to how well the control systems that are doing the claiming are fortified or undermined.
Assign a different score to each of the two competing control systems:
fully undermined= -1
neither or canceled= 0
fully fortified= 1
compare the numbers.
-If a power leads with one point (he fully fortifies while the other is cancelled or neither) it gets all the CC.
-If a power leads with two points (he fully fortifies while the other is fully undermined), it gets all the CC while costing the same amount of CC to the opponent.
-If both powers have the same score, the effects will vary according to whether both are fully fortified (no CC cost/gain), both cancelled/neither (CC cost to both) or both fully undermined (CC cost to both)
This will bring a greater incentive to fortify distant systems and to be more selective when picking undermining or fortifying targets. What are the thoughts?
