Can people stop calling the PvP section as a garbage dump where threads go to die? Because it isn't.
True. That's the Powerplay forum.

For terrible players.
I understand what you are saying but reasons/motivators are moslty irrelevant regarding a cheat.
Does not mean what you are saying is wrong but C&P needs an overhaul wether combat logging exist or not. It will not change the effects of criminal activities and will encourage combat logging in other situations like getting caught by the new ATR while working the BGS or to avoid respawning in a prison.
Removing reasons/motivators does not remove the availablility of the cheat:
- The reason people combat log is to avoid the rebuy cost : "Ok, lets remove the rebuy cost then"
- Now the reason people combat log is to avoid loosing the cargo : "Ok lets remove the cargo loss then"
- Now the reason people combat log is because they don't want to loose time by being sent back 100Ly back : "Ok, make ship invulnerable then"
- Now the reason people combat log is because they don't want to loose time during interdiction mini-game : "Ok, let remove interdiction then"
Do you think the RNGneers exploit should still be available until the engineer rework because the grind is way too boring and tedious ?
I'm not sure I'm a terrible player, but I'm terrible at PvP. I'm somewhat good in exploration. The PvP section gives me insight into the mind and life of PvP players, so it's education to me. Not sure why that would make me a terrible player. For terrible players.
But you can't remove combat logging...

Got it. Btw, I wasn't upset.Relax, I wasn't specifically talking about you. I was following the chain of quotes, but there's lots of very bad players in this game. Both in PVP and PVE.
Sure. Personally, I don't care where some of these discussions go. The forum separation is just a matter of organization. I participate in discussion that interests me, regardless which sub it's in.That's mostly why people keep arguing that this thread shouldn't belong in this section of the forums. Combat logging has a indirect impact in PVE.
Nobody will disagree.
We don't want to eliminate it, we/them want it penalised.
Great work Rinzler o7o7o7 and all SDC helpers.
I can live with Cloggers, it doesn't bother me too much, they quit=they lose (in my eyes), however . . . . .
FDev - I am disappointed to say, that it certainly looks like you've been caught with your pants down . . . . again - and the response given on this thread reads as more waffle.
I'm not getting militant, I'm simply offering a common sense approach to fixing the issue.
Nor am I "twisting your words and acting like you're attacking my personal character." It sounds like you are becoming emotional about this discussion and I recommend not taking so much of this as a personal attack on you, either.
The bottom line is that when people on this thread act like clogging cannot be solved without solving "griefing" if not first then at least at the same time, they are either painfully unaware of the nature of the issue...or tacitly defending clogging itself because "griefers are the root cause of the problem." If that is not the case and you personally truly don't feel that way, then you need to re-tool your arguments to reflect that.
I like the Rolling Stone's as much as the next guy, but when it comes to clogging I have no sympathy for the devil![]()
I think that the suggestion made by CMDR_Cosmicspacehead here is worth a look and is a good start towards a compromise solution:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ent-Proposal?p=5643210&viewfull=1#post5643210
The advantages are that at first glance it doesn't seem too hard to implement, and that it does not punish people with bad connections in any way, so that's covered.
I don't know if the deterrent is strong enough, because of either networking or because of NPCs not being persistent. I wonder if the game would be able to add to the save game, made automatically when the ship enters the danger state, information about the nature of the threat, and then spawn NPCs based on that information in the instance which is created when that particular save game is loaded.
In that case I wonder how this guy pulls it off: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/398920-Speaking-of-PiracyExcept the whole they quit they lose does not work when cLogging has practically destroyed piracy. Your philosophy only works when a kill and a win is the end goal

There are probable more of them but a 200 page long thread shouldn't have gone under your radar.

I wonder what will happen if a player faction with assets is a requirement for a squadron carrier.
No EULA violation though.
Now go back to the topic shall we.
