An option for downloading TMTK items as Model

Just an Idea for Modeling / Animate with interaction to existing items. Maybe u can ad an Checkbox on the creation website wich allows other ppl to get the TMTK itemnumber and let them download the zip file from the TMTK Website wich contains the fbx model. This way they can fitmodel additional Content.

Good request. But I think that it's best to ask permission for the file through Steam chat, would be fairer for the person who made it and he can then control which way his creation is going.

Yeah I don't think I would want my models out in the public for someone else to use as their own or modify without permission.

Coasterroster's suggested checkbox allowing download would be for those who do -- several people (including me, if you count my not-quite-there cow) are putting their pre-toolkit model'n'texture files up for others to use, in various places and under various terms pretty much from CC0 Public Domain to a range of Creative Common licensing. Right now it's all a bit ad-hoc, though. Although I doubt Frontier wants to turn its toolkit website into a download site even this narrowly defined, some consideration of how we could make it easier to share what we're doing here is IMHO a good thing. I think, that 75 to 80% of the current models are taken from some 3D model-sites in the internet and imported for Planco. You can search for such objects yourself in the net.

OH I'm aware. Still doesn't mean I would want my models out there.

Then you wouldn't. Ticking the checkbox (or however it goes) would be for people who do. Of course some people don't want their work available for others to rework for themselves, but the simple fact that many donate to the free model sites shows that there are people who are fine with that.

No one says that you should make your models accessible to everyone. If at some point this option should exist, there will probably be an option for the creators, with which they decide for themselves whether or not the 3D model will be available for download. I rather do not believe that the possibility to dowload the model will be granted in the future. Once again, we are discussing things that are never part of the program anyway.

My post was just a hint for those who want to download such models. Sorry, that I've quoted you .
