Analysing scan

Been getting to grips with the new scanners and probes and have noticed that the main star and other stars in the system all say Analysing scan and it never changes!
In FSS it says 100% system scanned but i can never see what type of stars they are and whether, because they never stop analysing the scan they are not getting marked in my codex for discovery’s..
It’s driving me quite mad!
Does anyone know and can help?
Thanks Cmdrs

You know I came here to find out this answer too... I'm so confused.

I'm looking straight at the star. It tells me the name. Says analysing scan and unexplored.
If I use the FSS it tells me I'm too close (3.13Ls away) but also says scan of system is 100% complete (it only contains 2 stars)

Yep, it’s quite maddening!

Am going to make a note of the next jumps star, see if it’s an m class or whatever, then check the codex for how many of that class I’ve discivered and then check again after entering the system..

Nope

Disregard!

Mmmmmmm

Upon researching I came across someone saying "If there are just suns in that system, they will be auto discovered when honking, and the game will tell you the system has been 100% mapped. Move on to next."

Still annoying that it says undiscovered and doesn't show in Codex, at least not that I've seen

Erm, you don't need to scan the star - its already done. The new FSS detects and scans all stars in a system.

You should instead - after fuel scooping - fly a bit away from the star (so that it will not obscure a planet) and then use the analysis mode to scan for interesting planets...
