Absolutely no problem here.
Since XBox is basically a PC in a shiny casing, that has better hardware and optimisation than most PCs i have seen in this forum, its even highly unllikely that the performance will get worse.
About the other conspiracys:
No, i dont think that Elite was designed for XBox and that we are betatesting for them.
4 Player Teams, UI Control etc...all very common thing that were designed with a huge variety of players in mind.
4 players is simply the most common amount in groups. Healer, Tank, 2 DDs. Assault, Tank Destroyer, Medic, Support. Scout, Long Range, Defender, Interceptor.
Humans (thats us) can only focus on around 3 or 4 things at a time...pretty handy to have just 4 or 5 player teams then.
Interface? PC offers so many different controlls...Gamepad, Keyboard, Mouse, Joystick, Headtracking...it just makes sense to design one interface that fits for all of them.
Overly complicated designs are a bad thing, Elite does it right. Intuitive controls and windows.
Sure, you can always do it better, but FD has done a good job so far.
As far as i understood, Xbox players will have their own Galaxy but with the same community events. So they can contribute at the same time we can and we both could win or loose?
That would be nice on one side, but also bad.
Imagine the current situation, on PC there is a blockade from Empire to stop Feds from building the Capital - if thats not the case on Xbox, we cant stop them.
So i hope XBox players will share the galaxy with us, since both our gaming systems are so similar. They can play with joysticks too, so i guess i would not even notice a difference.
So yeah, i think the idea to support XBox is nice.
Community grows, more income, more players...so why not?
The main focus is and stays on PC, XBox will just get the same patches, needs to be optimized only once though. But thats all.
So yeah, thanks for the news FD and good luck with it
