[ANNOUNCEMENT] Win an Nvidia Geforce Titan Black in our in-game Scavenger Hunt

I'll be curious to see if it was random or if there was some subtle link that was missed by some of those who found it randomly. But I do agree that if they do this again, and I'm betting they will, it should absolutely be a solvable riddle.

So then what was the whole point of the Reinhold intellisys nonsense then.. It just makes no sense, really crushed that this was just random..

PLease learn a lesson here FD about what the community wants to see in the future. This was a well conceived competition, executed poorly. So much missed potential.

Agreed. Scarvenger hunt my ...
Even 1984 Elite had more depth than this.

It was $5000 give or take plus whatever was spent on the programming, So it wasn't a huge amount as marketing goes.

However, when you spend 5k to tick people off, you just bought a ticket to the Marketing Darwin awards.

I'm not ticked off. Why are you ticked off? We all knew there were only 5. It didn't foster community that's for certain, but it got a lot of people out of their ruts and doing something all at the same time, all across inhabited space.

It was fun.

We have received more than 5 entries. The first two prior to this current set were entirely bogus (it looks like). We're going to verify the entries this morning (GMT). Back with an update soon.

Quote: Anyone tried to get "Allied" with Reinhardt IntelliSys?

Yep, I spent all weekend running missions for them, thinking that maybe all this anagram stuff and hunting mythological greek beings was going about it all wrong.

Maybe playing the game, using the built-in mechanics would provide a solid clue to the location of the Titans. So after spending countless hours ferrying goods and data, even donating credits to Reynhardt, I became allied with them.

My reward: Nothing, zilch, zip, nada.

Maybe im not allied enough. Maybe FD didn't bother with the game mechanics and just put them at a random station (this would really disappoint me).

I don't know. I've returned to working on my Fed navy rank, and am stuck there too. Got an invitation to Vega that I can't accept because I've already got the permit for Vega. Going to Vega just gives me the same unacceptable mission. Aaarrgggh. Maybe I should just go exploring for a while until FD fixes the ranking system.

Oh, you're one of those that think because you're feeling one way everyone else will / should feel the same....

nevermind then.

Now would anyone please enlighten the rest?
Put it in a spoiler so who wants to keep looking can do that as well.

Ok so it looks like the event is over now. I had a lot of fun trying to solve this puzzle even if it was just random. I think fd should seriously put this down on the list as something to add to the mission system I.e treasure hunt style objectives. With the size of this galaxy the potential for this kind of gameplay is definitely there

Well I've gotten one good thing out of it - my Explorer rank went up twice trying to find this thing :)

I really hope FD do another one of these, it's been fun for sure. I also hope it wasn't a random placement though, because half the fun was in trying to figure it out!

The marketing department made the mistake of calling it a Scavenger hunt which is following clues to get to the end. Super peeved could have spent more time jumping to systems than trying to solve a non existent puzzle.

No, I just don't understand doing something you enjoy but coming away from it angry/bitter. Do you play (interesting word, almost makes it sound like a game..) the lotto? If so, do you cuss and curse the state for their poor implementation when you lose?

I spent several hours this week in a lotto game, and I didn't win. I had fun, or I wouldn't have done it. I'm confused by people that get angry in situations such as this.

Hey congratulations to whom ever turns out to be the first five.
You're all going to have give us Screen shots of you winning ships with the debug camera once you have the cards installed :-D

I have tried so hard for this :) I'll be glad if it's over (even though I didn't win) because I honestly believe it was affecting my health - my brain hurts! Well done to the lucky ones - BUT the 5 items should've been in 5 different places or maybe even 10 items & the first 5 returned. How about putting things like free T-shirts & paint jobs randomly around the galaxy?

Crap... If only I wasn't so impatient to leave the comp. and go out exploring lol.

Congratulations to whoever the first 5 people were. Who knows, maybe the actual first 5 people didn't post on the forums or reddit, and everyone here got ninja'd xD

I spent 4 (almost full) days searching, putting many theories in practice and having fun reading this thread and all the theories shared. Earned a lot of in-game credits, rep and ranks with missions, exploration, trade in the process. Got frustrated and had "Khan" moments many times (that youtube video made me LOL) and had my wife with me in many of these moments... and most importantly, she was with me in the moment that I finally was able to find it, a few hours ago. She does not play (ANY game) and will continue to do not, but still, was amazing to share the moments with her and she was just excited as I was to pursuit this virtual adventure and trying to bring theories to the table.

The final moments were exciting. I basically frozen and start to shake, clicking in the wrong menus when I found the thing, etc. And the adrenaline when I made the trip to the delivery destiny was huge.

When I achieved the system to deliver... some CMDR told in the LOCAL Chat: "Hey"

This moment I basically stop to breath, hehehehhehe! I started to prepare my plans of defense... I bought a lot of cargo beyond the prototype and had this idea of jettison them, in the hope to create confusion between the attackers, so I had time to run in case of been disrupted or attacked by many people in the station... since I barely had experience fighting real CMDR's, since it's not my in-game focus, so I am not sure if I would survive...

But then... the guy added: "So, you are making a full scoop then?"... and I notice that he was talking with someone else that was near of the System Star and hadn't notice me.

So, in my last chance, in the last minute before going to the bed, after 4 days of persistence, I found and delivered the thing, with my wife in my side. Priceless!

I am grateful for all this experience and I am sure that it was my best experience playing games in my entire gaming life!

I have no idea if I am going to earn the prize or not, just like the other guys who shared here that delivered haven't too.

But in case not (holding breath)... It's ok! It was awesome and priceless anyway!

That been said... thank you all CMDR's and have you all a good night, morning or afternoon depending where you are!

For me, its 4AM now... I am going to bed to wake up in about 5 hours to work.
