[ANNOUNCEMENT] Win an Nvidia Geforce Titan Black in our in-game Scavenger Hunt

Can confirm that Meow was legit. I just wound up in his instance and he gifted me one outside the station for nothing which I docked and sold. Probably too late, but still an amazing gesture.

so let me get this straight, in stating there is an infinite supply they mean, if you find the station you can buy as many as your hold can carry then actually gift them? and this forum is how many pages long? sorry but not only has this "contest" surely been over for ages then but as a contest/competition that sucks. granted ppl lucky enough to find it would have probably told their friends but theres a difference in "hey jim, its over there. good luck!" and actually you four just wait near godel, ill bring the goodies.

frontier, poor poor show.

and yes, i know. Dont call you Shirley.

Yeah perfect example of how human brains work and search for meaning and connection in the things around us. In reality fd probably just said ok find a system out of the way which no one ever goes to and put it there. I love that the Langford guy who works at nvidia is based in Cambridge though which is where fd are based. That cannot be coincidence!:)

You could only buy one at a time from what I saw... I told no one where they were.

Tenuous link time:

From Handbook of Philosophical Logic, Volume 1, edited by Dov M. Gabbay, Franz Guenthner.

With a slight anachronism I call the third group the Model theorists. Their aim was to study mathematical structures from the point of view of the laws which which these structures obey. The group includes Ernst Schroder (1841-1902), Leopold Lowenheim (1878-1957), Thoralf Skolem (1887-1963), C.H.Langford (1895?-1964), Kurt Godel (1906-1978) and Alfred Tarski (1901-1983).

And that, as far as I can see is that. No other link between them at all. Which makes me kinda sad to be honest, as I was hoping it wouldn't be a case of just pure luck but more a mystery that had to be solved. Hearty congratulations to the winners though, well done, hope you enjoy your cards (or the proceeds from the sale of them, hehe!) and I look forward with trepidation to the next one - I do hope it isn't as "random" as this one.

I gotta agree with whoever posted earlier...even mini competitions for tshirts and hoodies would be welcome for the distraction they provide...but if they're random not cryptic then they need to just be an appropriately rare damaged-npc-cargo-drop/uss-spawn thing I guess.

So it's over, good i can back to normal live now :D Congratulation to winners !!one
It was fun i need to admit i really enjoyed hunt. This feeling when i discovered system WINAGMAN is priceless... Im in work atm but cant wait to check if i was serching near to 17 Lyrae system.

Vega is the largest star in Lyra constellation. And nvidia have a product called vega.

Still that's tenuous at best.

I'm sensing a little disappointment from yourself Mr.N...

What's funniest is how so many people are getting annoyed as though for some reason they are owed something by FD. As I said many pages back it was never stated whether the competition would be random or not, so no-one has any reason to be annoyed if it was. Searching hundreds of systems compared to googling some ideas and flying to specific systems, there's more effort and time involved in random searching. I am most certainly not putting down the effort some people put into their theories, they certainly kept me entertained while I flew around Alliance systems checking out around 100 stations.

Also let's not forget that it was a scavenger hunt, not a treasure hunt.

He's right only one can be purchased, i got on to it by trying to search the forums for his posts for shriker home elite after he posted it was in his home system, no joy there so tried to search in google. took me to his group forum and a post there, although it wasnt at the station he mentioned as his home but the one next door, had a bit of help with the google search formatting but thats it.
