HISTORY

Persian Astronomer Abd al-Rahman al-Sufi (903-986), known as Azophi to westerners, made the first known observation of a group of stars outside of our current galaxy. He was the first to discover the Andromeda Galaxy.

With this discovery, he changed how astronomers were viewing the galaxy at the time and expanded the minds of all future astronomers and star-seekers.

We aim to do the same.

MISSION

The main objective for this expedition is to explore the interesting features of some of Elite Dangerous’ less-known locations.
Locations such as the Formidine Rift and the Heisenberg Bridge are largely left untouched and surrounded in mystery, but among them lie some of the greatest scenic views that Elite Dangerous has to offer.

This expedition will be a great opportunity for all explorers, novice and veterans alike, to see what else our galaxy has to offer.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Jump Range Requirements

Some sections of the route require a jump range of at least 32.6 LY Laden.
Please be aware of this Minimum Jump distance CMDRs!
You can reach us at our Discord for more information on how to achieve this required jump range.

Player Group Information

CMDR's, We'll also have a private group set up for both Xbox and PC sides! They are one quick search away and are labelled below:

XBOX PG = Xta80
PC PG = Xta

Let us know if you have any problems!

Waypoint 3 Meetup Info

Due to waypoint 3 being a photo op waypoint, we wanted all of the commanders to have a good view of the nebula upon entry to the planet. However, the planet is not tidally locked and because of this, the coordinates shown in the picture do not show the view we originally wanted at the time.
Instead of meeting up at different coordinates, we will be meeting up at the Sagan Class Megaship then moving as a group towards the planet for meetup. Sorry for the inconvienience Commanders! Please see our Discord for more info.

Thank you!

This might sound odd OP, but, have I seen you before? Can't be this forum, seeing as you're Mostly Harmless.

Elite Dangerous Club per chance?

Excellent! Good luck with this Commanders!

PS
Wouldn't this thread be more appropriate in the Exploration Forum?

I've been looking forward to an expedition like this ever since I foolishly passed up Distant Worlds on Xbox for No Man's Sky. Wish I knew then what I know now.

If you're heading toward the Formidine Rift might I make some waypoint suggestions?

in the EAFOTS BB-C C13-0 system, discovered by CMDR Gypsy12, there is an opportunity to witnessing the occultation of the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds by the Heart and Soul Nebulae.

You may also want to make a stop at the four Dynasty Expedition abandoned settlements (just 600 light-years from the location above). One of the settlements has the benefit of spawning random rare materials (I picked up 12 Chemical Manipulators!). Two of the settlements have data points which, once scanned, give you around 8 million credits worth each of data that can be redeemed in the "contacts" section of starport services.

Of course no trip to the Formidine Rift is complete without stopping off at NGC 7822 along the way. This brightly lit nebula is populated by numerous class "O" stars visible from thousands of light-years away.

While slightly off the beaten path there is also the Bubble Nebula which might be worth a look.

Rho Cassiopeia lies deep in the Rift and offers a true challenge for anyone willing to make the attempt. Bring and engineered FSD and plenty of Jumponium if you want to be one of the few to visit this distant system.

Don't go giving away our waypoints and side trips before we release them ;)

Those are all amazing locations and great input :)
