Another 'How do I unlock Palin' inquiry

Alright, so I decided to make the trek about 5k ly from the bubble to unlock the good professor, and while I ended up going 6k he's still locked to me, even upon multiple relogs.

That being said, I did encounter a couple of Maude Adder disconnects when I was about 3k & 4500k out, but I was told that it was max distance from the bubble and not in the single trip.

Whatever transaction that is logged as you hitting the mark, has to register on the Transaction server. Whatever process that eats that transaction has to realize what that means and flag another bit of the database that you have unlocked Palin. Then the DB has to update your save game, and then it has to hit your client. Just relogging may speed up the moment your client queries the DB to update your save on your client, but it doesn't do anything for the rest of the process. And the transaction server seems to be severely ill atm.

Just wait. If it doesn't happen later, then worry.

The other question would be did you do this in a carrier. If so, then you need to get out and jump some.

As it turns out I missed a couple steps that needed to come before the 5k ly bit, but at least that's out of the way.

Went from the bubble to HD 152233, meandered over towards the Cat's Paw, then to the Trifid, went 1k further out to make it 6k ly, started back on a course towards the bubble by way of the Lagoon only to learn the hard way about distracted driving, but as I had randomly docked at a fleet carrier that was smack dab in the middle of the Cat's Paw I didn't have to start back in the bubble, then meandered my way back while still picking up 702,000,000 in bonuses for exobiology.
