Another Sign Of Space Madness

I have but one alt account. I bought it to use for exploration. It served well for that. I could switch between activities, with the alt account having the leisure of long term exploration.

(Kenobi voice) Then Came The Dark Times. Then Came The FSS.

The alt account wasn't a leisurely activity anymore. And, it couldn't do anything the main account could not, except be in a different place. Or, commit itself to Chaotic Evil. I suck at that.

I went back to my main account. I moved to Colonia, and felt much better.

Both accounts had traveled to Colonia. I thought I would put them (alt account systems) into my main account's galmap, by going to the stars that the alt account had visited on the way to Colonia.

Problem: All those horrible system names began to blur. I couldn't sort which ones were closest to Colonia, for an effective search.

Then, the madness really took over. Systems had to be manually put into the galmap from the spreadsheet, plus the distance from my system in Colonia.

I wound up finding myself actually contemplating systems tens of thousands of light years away. I tried reducing them, by looking at my notes, and seeing if I could reduce them to only the interesting ones.

That took me down to eight hundred systems. Possibly many, many more.

And uncountable jumps. And, being locked in the Drunken FSS Tank, scanning everything, for fear of missing anything.

One cannot totally re-live ones life. Trying to retrace the alt account's life path lead to insanity. Well, beyond my normal level.

Friends, don't let your OCD compel you into trying to recall everything you have ever mapped, into just one account. Just let it go. The alt account costs nothing to just sit parked. Be yourself. :)

Once I realised that I was going to really get stuck into this game, I started to record my visited systems, amongst other information. Trouble is, being on a console I have no way to get history.

I don't have an alt account but after DW2 I have been spending time bouncing around the bubble, retracing visits to things I know I've been to in order to come across visited systems currently not in my own visited list. I've also manually scanned the galaxy map a couple of times.

I've visited over 7000 systems and as of now, my list is missing 9. I really wish Frontier would allow a download of a lifetime journal, or at least the list of visited systems that the galaxy map knows.

Hello,
What is wrong with the fss(besides the planetary feature scan time- i believe its related to frame rate)? I was not here before 3.3 popped out so I never had to use the old system. However, from what I have heard the FSS is better than the old way of doing things.

Reminded me kind of funny story:
One man sent letter to matches factory:
- Last ten years I counted number of matches in the boxes you sell. There are either 59 or 60 or 61 matches per box. And I want to ask you: "Are you crazy there?"
