Any Idea What This Is?

Been exploring out in the Wredguia + Outopps sectors of the Inner Orion Ring and seen this "object" all over through several different sectors. It looks like a whole bunch of huge stars in a line with a galaxy like glowing oblong ring around it. Anyone seen it as well or have any idea of what it is?.

that's where the galactic forge imported real galaxy survey data. someone will know which one that is.

You about 4-6k ly out? Possibly toward the soul nebula? Last time I jumped towards those stars your seeing I was rewarded with this...

Yep, it's 7822. That string of O-class stars inside a nebula gets 'em every time.

And no, there's no point in exploring anywhere near that thing. It's like an explorer-moth beacon. The whole sector is thoroughly Tagged.

Well you have to acknowledge that anything that stands out and is clearly visible from more than a couple of light years away has been visited, even if it was only by me (y) 🍻

Sorry to crash the party, but how does one "jump" towards an object they find interesting?
I never know which way I'm facing in the Galaxy Map to be able to plot a course. There
are a bunch of cool things I would visit but have no clue how to start out. I'm not much of an
explorer.

Wish we could just click a thing in the sky and have it open in the map.
X.

You select a star in Galaxy Map, preferably in the rough direction of the object first.
See how that lines up with the object in cockpit view. Rinse and repeat until you have one close enough.
Then try to pick one far enough and plot course to it, you'll be travelling towards the object.
Wit some luck you can spot the object in Galaxy Map too, making things a bit easier. :)

In that case, I had help. A tourist visiting 'nebula view'.
Sometimes the long distance pax missions are worth the trip, that one was just 6000ly.

On the other hand, I once took one well past SagA to a system with three earth likes, Procyon would have been a lot closer...and more interesting.

That depends which side of it your on...

Oh , what i said was just plain idiotic, lol!

I thought you had to climb up that, as compared to the galactic plane, then jump out beyond that messier.
I'm probably wrong, I was only at the Anaconda Graveyard once, and it's all a blur.

*now I learn that if you put in the letters f. f. s. (Without the dots and spaces), the message board changes it to "what are you doing"
