Any news on when Engineers is going to be finished?

by finished i was hoping this was going to be a thread about when FD scrapped engineers and removed their mods from the game.

Are you serious? You do realize how many people (myself included) have spent literally hundreds of hours upgrading their modules, right? No way in hades Fdev is going to just snap their fingers and have all that vanish.

Yes all I've heard recently from FD is about the next expansion, Guardians.

I predict that we will get at least one more engineer with 2.2.
So far we are missing an Engineer that specializes in Beams and an Engineer that specializes in fighter bays.
Perhaps one of the engineers will even be an Alien.
 
I have a feeling they are going to be released as part of the on going story.

I agree, a few with each patch. I'm hoping some of them aren't just reskins of the old one's; it would be nice to start seeing some more variety with the upgrades.

Wouldnt that be great. As it is, i realize that the time i put into the game now is futile, even in a gaming sense, since im not buying anymore ED until the engineers is removed and i dont think they will ever remove it.
 
I have been waiting for engeneers since gamma! When they took our overcharged etc wepons away. Honestly! Why would you want them removed. Its added so much flavor and dynamic to the game... i know its also added a nightmare heat meta and that many of the mods are lackluster but time is a beutiful thing.

I too realy want them to finnish the engeneers! I realy do t care about fighter bays though the QOL things of 2.2 i would like but im not in a hurry.
 
If we get more rngineers , I would really love a DD5 guy in the bubble rather than hundred's of light years away; maybe we could persuade Palin to move :)

I think 15 engineers is enough. FD should just add the missing blueprints to the correspondingly specialized engineers (e.g. laser grade 5 -> Broo Tarquin).

That would be glorious, and as compensation you get all of the engineering components you farmed back, if your cargo hold can't handle that much, then you're required to sell off all the excess at the station.

Getting rid of RNGineers would actually get me to play -more regularly- than I do at present, same would go for a fair few of my friends. Would also like to see a torch taken to Powerplay but one step at a time eh? :D
 
Whatever their plans for the Engineers are, I just hope they won't drag it into a never ending struggle for balance. If they plan on releasing more engineers. it should be within one or two patches at most. Changing builds and equipment all the time isn't fun if you don't specifically want to do something new.

PS: of course, if new engineers start going in the right direction, which is non-combat modules with new functions and new gameplay possibilities, then they can release them as slow as they want.
