Any suggestions on getting into RP in the game?

I can really see the potential for RP and obviously some people are waving a great time doing just that, and creating lore.
I´m just not sure how to grasp all of it and how to enter into the RP circle in E.
Preferably I would like to RP without the need to be up to date with everything in the game and what everyone is doing. Not having to read lotst and lots of content just to keep up.

I started with a writing and submitting a few news articles. I've created a very small player group (!) and we have a minor faction in game which a few of the news articles are based around. The characters associated with my articles are ones that I hope to flesh out a bit over time. However none of the characters are my in-game commander really, so perhaps this doesn't really count as RP, more storytelling.

I would simply say go with what you fancy. Read what interests you, potter around the game and if you see something there that sparks your interest, build upon that. Many of the minor factions have written lots of their own lore and have their own agendas. You might want to join them, or strike out on your own. Above all, have fun.
