True I am getting better at super-cruising to the station with each trip, which is fantastic (gives a great feeling of me getting better at the game), but I still over-shoot (and under-shoot if you know what I mean) quite often. So any tips would be appreciated. Also what is the purpose of the thin orange scale/indicator immediately to the right of my throttle indicator? The one on the opposite side of the "sweet spot" blue indicator? Many thinks.
Any tips for super-cruising and avoiding over-shooting?

Keep the time to target at 7 seconds and that'll bring you right in.
Full throttle until you get to 10-12 seconds then throttle down and hold 6-7 seconds.
This is the answer you are looking for. *waves hand*
Ultimate guide:
go full-speed and when it automatically starts to slow down make sure you throttle up/down towards 6-8 seconds and keep it that way - never go 4 seconds because then u will overshoot... 5 seconds is the maximum but a little stressful too.
Oh, and once you've reached a speed of about 1.1Mm (like when u are only ca.7Mm distance away) you can just go full speed again because auto-slowdown wouldn't allow you to go higher then 1000km/h anyway...

You can push it to 6s if you switch to 75% throttle right when the 6 comes up.

1. Stay at FULL throttle until that countdown value reaches 0:07
2. Throttle back to MID throttle at that point.
3. Fine-tune your throttle until it is at a spot where you maintain 0:07
4. Hold that throttle all the way to your destination, until speed drops < 1,000 km/s
5. You can then throttle up again to save a hair more time, if you want!
6. When distance < 1000km, Exit Supercruise.
Once you've got that down and second nature, revise Step 3 to ride "0:06" all the way to your destination. That's close to the bleeding edge.
If it drops to 0:05, you stand a fair chance of over-shooting. Consider deviating a bit to fly an arc, using the extra distance to peg it back to 0:06.

If you're a beginner and are tending to overshoot then I think the suggested 7 seconds is a bit fast. Personally I'd recommend somewhere between 0:08 and 0:10 seconds to target. So, watch the time to target number (that's the number below the distance to target). Go full throttle until you see that approaching 0:10 and then reduce throttle until you see it level out somewhere between 0:08 and 0:10. At that point your ship should have started automatically reducing speed for you and you'll be able to leave your throttle where it is (it might seem odd at first that it's saying 10 seconds to target and then keeps saying that, often for well over 10 seconds, but that's because you're now constantly decelerating). You'll just automatically drop out of SC when you get close enough. As you get more experienced (and if you're in a rush) then you can go for that 7 or 6 seconds although anything below 5 usually results in an overshoot unless you're quick on the throttle.
