Any updates on anti-aliasing work?

This issue is the #1 top voted issue now. With the elevated contrast levels in Odyssey, the game would greatly benefit from functional anti-aliasing.
Well, now you've done it. In before they post the following next month:

We’d like to take this opportunity to address the Anti Aliasing Not Working Correctly issue from the Issue Tracker.

After spending some time to observe the effects of the issue while weighing-up the costs to resolve it, we have decided to focus those resources elsewhere. Improving anti-aliasing would require a deep-overhaul of fundamental systems, which in turn would disrupt other aspects of the game. This would inevitably take time away from developing and improving other elements such as performance, bug fixes, and new content.

But then if they keep doing that, the very last thing on the list is going to be amazing after all of the devtime they will be able to spend on it :D

"Due to the requirement of immense resources and time, we are not working on this." Something like this. All we get is info on the things they aren't working on.

That's the spirit: good riddance, who's up next?

i dont have an issue with Anti-A, looks pretty good at 4k
if at 4k with supersampling 1.25 there isnt any
So you do have an issue with AA, because it should look relatively good regardless of resolution or supersampling.

Image from U12 - think they've cracked it this time!

Not a solution, but:

If you run any upscaling, avoid FSR and try CAS instead. That gives way better AA.
The ticket discusses the lack of actual antialiasing from any of the FXAA, MLAA, and SMAA settings at full resolution.
Rendering at lower resolution and upscaling as implemented by FSR or CAS exacerbates the issue, as does the generally stronger contrast in EDO compared to horizons.
Not using FSR does not, however, "give better antialiasing" - it merely renders at native resolution. The non-impact of any of the game's AA settings remains.

I've found that the best solution is to downsample, use SS x1.25 or x1.5 if your hardware can take it.
I use x2 on a 4k widescreen since I'm on an overclocked RX6900XT, and station interiors still look like a jagged mess. The root cause needs to be fixed.

I don't have 4k but yes even on lower resolution it doesn't completely do away with the problem, but it does look vastly better. I agree about fixing the root cause, that would be very welcome! As long as I've played I've wondered why it was so bad.. :)

There is still plenty of obvious aliasing at 4k with 1.25x SS and essentially no GPU currently in existence that can run this at ultra while targeting ~60 fps lows.
