Any way to get your Commander's model?

Does anyone know where to find, or how to acquire, the model for my Commander in the game?

Edit: It would be only for personal reasons, I don't want to sell them or any dumb thing like that.

That doesn't make it any less illegal. Much like you can't justify robbing a bank because you can't get a job and need to feed your children.

What do you want the model for? If you just want a human model, try makehuman. It's free (open source). There are community add-ons as well on the website. You can even import it into blender and make your own clothing etc. YouTube has videos on how to do it.

If someone did they wouldn't be posting it on a public forum

I wanted to try making a scene in blender using elite dangerous models. But I guess using those models would be against some sort of guideline or something right?

1) Take some screen shots of your CMDR from different angles (front, left, back, right) to use as reference.
2) Download Blender from blender.org (it's free) and look up some YouTube tutorials on making human characters in Blender using reference images (there are many of them)

As far as the legalities of using ED content for your own stuff goes, read

It would seem you're unlikely to be sent off to prison for using your commander's model for noncommercial purposes, but given that customization assembles your avatar from various individual assets with various attributes assigned, I doubt you could extract it intact from game files.

Thus absent some hidden export function or third-party tool designed to replicate your commander, the Blender method is probably the most feasible, though not necessarily easy.

Try Renderdoc, though be warned it will take some work. CMDR models are there, as they need to be rendered.
You will quickly understand how brked the ED render pipeline is, however...

I used it to get a base for ship internals design, and also built a full 3D planet for the Circumnavigation expedition

Or use photogrammetry with LOADS of photos to get a base point cloud to work with
