Anyone advise on touchscreen windows 8 app?

I'm building quite a nice little cockpit for ED and DCS A10C and the Huey modules, and as such I'm adding a 23" touchscreen to my existing multi monitor setup.

In DCS you can map OSD's and stuff to the touchscreen monitor and therefore control them with your fingers.

I'm not saying that ED should have this (very cool) feature, but does anyone know of a windows 8.1 app that allows you to create on-screen 'buttons' and key map them to global keyboard presses?

I've been googling for over an hour. There is a few for ios (my ipad will work but I wanted to use the new monitor.) but I can't find any for windows 8

Anyone know of any?

That sound's like a genius bit of fun! My monitors are being replaced so I'm down to my tablet pc. I'll have a look for an app too. Ill report back if i find one.

Autohotkey can retrieve info from windows and simulate the keyboard and many other things, worth a look at and is open source. May not be able to work with your touch screen? And do not know if it works with win 8 but they do update it so ...

This got my interest peaked, although my interest was whether or not it can be done using a webpage as the touch interface. Since I think it would be very convenient to just open up your browser in full screen and have it be your interface, etc.

Looking around, though, it doesn't look like JavaScript can do this alone. The closest I found was a Node js module called node_keyboard that could do this. It requires knowledge of Node, however, so it might not be the best solution for everyone.

Just been playing with ROCCAT POWER GRID, but it has serious limitations and doesn't seem like it's still being developed. Plus you'd need iPads to use (no prob I have 3) but it doesn't work with a windows 8 touchscreen.

I saw somewhere (I can't find the link at present), that Roccat are to release an app version for Windows tablets/ smart phones sometime in the near future. AFAIK this is still the case.

I should get my touchscreen monitor next week, and my Obutto Revolution cockpit, so once they are all setup, I'll report back.

I'm going to try that too and I'm also going to see if I can play with the Power-Grid stuff too, it might be more useful to more players.

If I get anyway, I'll post it here.
