General / Off-Topic Anyone else annoyed by the trailer for The Watch?

I don't know, the thing might turn out to be OK but it really doesn't "look" like Pratchett's Ankh-Morpork, some of it really grates but also some of it entices.

The casting seems really dire.

I don't mean the usual "gah its got girls in it" complaints you get about everything now. I mean every time the trailer identified a character by naming them I thought "really you must be kidding".

IMDB has a list of the cast at the moment, some real shockers:

Samuel Adewunmi ... Carcer Dun

Marama Corlett ... Angua

Richard Dormer ... Sam Vimes

Jo Eaton-Kent ... Cheery

Adam Hugill ... Carrot

Lara Rossi ... Lady Sybil Ramkin

Joe Vaz ... Urdo van Pew / ...

Paul Kaye ... Inigo Skimmer

Ingrid Oliver ... Doctor Cruces

Matthew Van Leeve ... Oook / ...

Jane de Wet ... Alice Band

James Fleet ... Archchancellor of Unseen University

Anna Chancellor ... Lord Vetinari

Hakeem Kae-Kazim ... Captain Keel

Shane John Kruger ... Goblin #2

Munro Lennon-Ritchie ... Young Sam Vimes

Ruth Madeley ... Throat

Bianca Simone Mannie ... Wonse

Looks like its a mash up of many books, all completely scrambled.

It doesn't look like Ankh-Morpork.

Vimes doesn't look like Vimes or act like him.

And... well, Lord Vetinari.... gender swap for no discernable reason. Its getting rather silly these days. However, i look forward to the next version of Pride and Prejdudice with Elizabeth Bennet being gender swapped to be a man.

Didn't even watch the Trailer after I've read a Article about all the Stuff they did wrong. But I think in another Article it was mentioned that it is planned to make a few other Adaptations of his Books that will be better. Can't wait. It's a Shame that there's only 3 (5 if you count Part 1 and 2 of two of them) Live Action Movies and 2 animated Movies
