Hardware & Technical Anyone own and play ED on a Rog Swift PG278Q

I need a monitor real bad and its been frustrating.

I followed the Rog since May last year, I'd made my mind up I was goner buy it, that was until the near on seven hundred price tag.

I haven't seen a bad review on Youtube and I've watched a few, but I have heard of complaints on the Guru and on the Asus forums of poor quality at the bottom of the screen.

If anyone is using this monitor could you share your experiences and give me advice weather or not I should buy it, I not that bothered about the divorce its giving up beer im scared of, in order to pay for such luxuries in my life :)

Isit worth the price tag ?

Well I've got to say this monitor is excellent, I waited since the announcement of this monitor last year to complete my build (R.O.G. throughout). I unfortunately don't have much to compare it to other than my 40" Sony Bravia, but I've got to say my experience has been nothing but positive.

The Image is just beautiful you can see so much detail, it reminds me of the difference of going from S.D. to H.D. on my old PlayStation 3. There's just like another level of graphical fidelity that I didn't see on my Bravia.
The colours are vibrant out of the box seemed pretty well balanced to me, there's complaints about viewing on the net I play with track I.R. haven't noticed any problems as I turn my head. There is no issue of brightness or fading on my panel, no dead pixels its perfect. (bought it from Scan.co.uk, cheapest I could find).

I chose this monitor because I didn't really want to have to Sli to get 4k, I've spent a huge amount of money on my build, just to play Elite, it got to the stage that I had to draw a line in the sand.

Its more than worth it for me I've got a R.O.G. mother board, R.O.G. G.P.U, RADIR hard drive It all glows red. It's matching! The monitor is the icing on the cake!

I would consider buy it again if I had the chance. However there are some 4k monitors with gsync coming onto the market but you have to remember you'll need more G.P.U. power to run them, I run at a steady 100f.p.s on my Asus direct c.u. II 780ti.
It also glows red which matches my Keyboard , mouse and as soon as I mod my x55 that will glow red as well.... mmmm matching! ;)

Thanks for your opinion, I've gone a got the divorce

Bought from scan, arrives tomorrow, went for the pay in 9 months option.

About 3 days ago it was on Amazoon for about 650.00 but when I looked yesterday it had gone upto 704.00. I paid 669.00

I noticed off a youtube video that not all games have G-sync, which doesn't realy matter because you can use ULMB.

Will ED support G-sync I wonder ?

One more question do you think my single 780 will run games without a struggle or should I be saving up for another GPU ?

Sli is not an option I have 650 PSU and I love it ( very quiet ) not changing it :p
