Anyone Using Track IR?

Try this
https://edtracker.org.uk/
If all you need it for is elite then it's perfect. It doesn't do 6DOF but the elite doesn't support that anyway. I've been using it for a while and it's great, I have literally no complaints with it. And at £40 it's a helluva lot cheeper than Track Ir.

I actually had this and it worked okay, but it was wireless so i wired everywhere lol.

Love the TrackIR. The only next thing I'd invest in would be a VR headset.

I often catch myself subconsciously moving my head when (a) playing without the TrackIR or, (b) watching ED videos on YouTube. :D

Made mine myself saving myself a fair few £££ it aint pretty but gets the job done.

Have to agree with others though, it's a game changer.

ED does technically support 6DoF but the limits on it are so small that it might as well not be there. I think max head movement range is under 1cm in any direction.

Yeah I would like a lot more movement.
You don't really get an impression of the size of the cockpit unless you can move your head side to side a bit.

And from what I understand from the Oculus Rift users there is a fantastic depth with some panels close and some far.
You don't really get that with the limits imposed on the Track IR side movement.

Without reading the thread, I bet there is not one bad review in here of the Track IR.

It is game changing. Impossible to fly without it once you have one.

I made the mistake of playing CQC without it for a session. My kill/death ratio was 1.5:1. With Track IR, it's over 3:1. That single device doubles my kill/death ratio.

I love the hat clip. For so many reasons!

We don't all use headsets. Also, we don't all sit at a desk...

Regardless, I found my pro clip thing was constantly getting ripped off my head by my cats during particularly heated combat situations. Seems the cable swinging around so much was something they could not resist attacking...

Consider yourself lucky. My cat has a habit of jumping on my computer and stepping on the power button...

Personally, I like the cap clip. No wires and it works well for me. I don't always wear a headset. Only problem is the strange looks I've gotten when answering the door and one trip to the store when I forgot I was wearing it. ;-)

If you tie the trackIR cable to your Headset cable......No Issues....Simples ;)

get an USB rechargeable battery (with on/off switch, duracell make a good one), velcro it to your headset, wrap the TIR Clip Pro USB cable around the headband, connect cable to battery, and voila! instant wireless mode!
