ANNOUNCEMENT April Update - Coming 23 April 2019

Oh my..very nice indeed. Now all we need is the original In system Jump from the original games, removing the need for hour or two hour long supercruises.

I just did a search for this before posting a suggestion. Why oh why did they not include that? You should be able to jump between stars in a system at the very least.

EDIT- had a mission yesterday to retrieve some samples. Scan the nav beacon and the USS is...189,000 ls away. Really?

exacly the same here for 3 days now
these devs are getting silly why in Gname is this not fixt
and why did this ocure it was working fine until a couple of days ago

like i say before i am scared for the update that is coming up it will prob brake the game completely

I get that, but there's a workaround. Instead of launching the game direct from the Steam menu, open your Steam library page. Right-click on Elite and choose "Play Elite Dangerous Horizons".

I just did, I mean didn't do, an assassination mission today where the target was 480,000 ls away from the nav beacon. Just took the abandon hit to faction and moved on. ed the hell out of me having to do that though.........

To those people who say that there is no meaningful way to interact with other players beyond "Bang Bang...", I challenge you to come over toward Kappa Fornacis and look up the East India Company. We are a player faction/squadron, and besides flying together, we also trade rare commodities for engineer unlocks to anyone who wants to place an order and pay with in-game goods.

Admittedly, the game doesn't make peer-to-peer trades easy, but we manage. We trade with CMDRs who have never been in Open before, and we have never lost a customer to either PC or NPC piracy. Anyone interested, please look at http://www.eicgaming.com

That said, the game desperately needs peer to peer trading including ship to ship docking or lighters, and a way to securely trade materials and data between players.

Is it possible to address the graphics glitch that freezes the game while in flight? There has been so many complaints about this and no resolve/mention from Fdevs.

Would it not be better to have a game tutorial, like we did in Elite 1984, with a more interactive version of the Dark Wheel for new players?

That would mean all new players would play through the same story part which contradicts with the whole idea of being in one galaxy together. A story mode or anything like that, where players do the same quests/stories, like in most rpgmmos, is something I hope will never ever come to Elite. There are a lot of other games for that kind of thing, but not Elite please.
That said, I think the new player systems they are introducing offer kind of a tutorial and introduction on another basis. I mean, it's still Elite! Can't take away the first-flight experience where you potentially completely mess up. If you're not coming back from that, maybe that means Elite isn't for you. :D

Maybe yes, maybe no. If I'd choose tutorials or more new content, I choose content (and bug-fixes). To learn how to play the game -- is a part of game experience in Elite, you know. I had a lot of pleasures while googling. It's still maybe only my case, but I had no problems with learning to play Elite, otherwise it was a good and funny challenge and nicely spent time.

I understand how one can trade "Canister's" of various mats, but how does one trade "DATA"?
