Ship Builds & Load Outs Arissa cobra

It's going to use up the weapon capacitor in the power distributor in seconds as it's pulling 4.27 mW out of it, I've got a basic Cobra for PP stuff (around 900k) with the same A3 dist and it has 2 x class 2 gimballed pulse and 2x class 1 pulse turrets with all power to the weapons it'll run the turrets continuously and all guns for around 10 seconds before needing to recharge, that setup draws 1.96 mW less than half your weapon load-out.

Try this one though it's still going to have weapon power issues, heat too probably :(

TBH for combat I'd suggest a Viper or a Diamondback Scout (if you need the range) the DB-S runs a lot cooler too so it might cope with the rail gun thermal output better than the others

I would help you but you are for Arissa, so that would be treason. I will say that the scout vs cobra choice is one that I struggle with. The fighting styles are completely different.

Not a follower of the Empire myself but hopefully the forum is neutral territory ;)

I surprised an Imperial wouldn't consider a Courier instead of a Cobra cheaper, faster, looks cool but runs kinda hot!

It will have weapon power issues not as bad as the Cobra though, heat again will also be an issue so you'll need to keep checking ship temperature.

Compared to my Cobra I found an equally kitted out Courier useless. Cobra is faster, tougher hull and more variety although lack of utility points sucks, FD really screwed up the Cobra with only 2 utility points and a class 4 power plant.

How about this build? First, the FSD Interdictor, will allow you to do missions in enemy space for 15 PP points for each cargo ship you sack and destroy, which is a great way to build points. With the 32 cargo space, you can still perform limited cargo runs as well. The two SCBs will afford you longer periods out in space during combat, but you will have to emply the SCBs while your hardpoints are retracted, but the Cobra is so fast, that shouldn't be a problem to run, use the SCB, and return to combat. Of course, you should shut down one of the two SCBs so you are not using them at the same time since one SCB will almost replenish your full shields.

I also removed the 1D rail gun and swapped the 2 and 1 size beam to pulse lasers to free up power, but the 2D hammer is more than enough, and the rail and hammer will definitely overheat your ship when fired together. The 3 lasers will afford you with additional time for combat versus the rail by removing the ammo restrictions and otherwise limiting them to the hammer.

Honestly, with this level of an investment, I think you would be infinitely better off with a Courier, if you have PP rank with Arissa, or Empire Rank. Otherwise the DS. If you are interested for combat based missions, those two ships I believe are better than the Cobra, especially the courier, which will cost you 10 mil for a full A loadout and will have 500+shields to the Cobra's 150j shields.

Here are my builds for the Courier and DS if you want to check them out:

Courier: http://coriolis.io/outfit/imperial_...2t6b5454f1.AwRj4zKA.AwiMIyNGSA==?bn=IC PP v01
DBS: http://coriolis.io/outfit/diamondba...m07040440582t6b.AwRj4yKA.IwBhrSq5iA==?bn=DS 1

Both served me well, and they have very low repair costs for interdicting ships in PP.

I would say if you're going to go for combat only dump the cargo bays, the discovery scanner, and use either double Mid cannons or multicannons and then double small lasers to take out the shields of your enemies...

i alwo, personally, to with one shield booster and then 2 shield cell banks to recharge, though I don't use the A grades because I only want the recharges to do just over 1 ring so that I don't waste recharging....
