AspX Exploration build - advice and comments needed and welcome

Yeah... you can figure the disappointment when I found it was so tiny it was almos invisible. Jump landed at less than 6Mm from the hole. I've been in Maia B, In Sag. A* and in countless other black holes in the core, never found one so tiny. It was right in front of my hud. It should have been more visible, but...
Why be disappointed? Isn't it nice to see something different than usual? :)

Well, if you actually "SEE" it, you're right :D
But traveling 7kly to NOT see something, well, it didn't sit so well with me. But I'll overcome the disappointment, I've seen lots of interesting stuff in this short trip so far.

lol, didn't expect it to be THAT bad. 😄
But yeah, expectations have a tendency to be disappointed. Was the same for me visiting Sag A*. It was quite impressive and all, but the place is littered with Carriers, which seriously tarnished the experience for me.... Why can't those dudes at least have the decency to park their damn easy mode taxi next door, or at Explorers Anchorage or wherever...

In this I've been way more blessed than you. I got to Sag. A* something like 4 years ago, no carriers update, no horizons out, no engineers yet. I was completely, utterly alone. To get somewhere never visited was a matter of deviating 40-50 ly down/up or right/left from the direct beeline, at the time. And I did all but a beeline, I promise you :D

There are plenty of black holes out there that are so small that you pretty much have to slam into their exclusion zone for them to be well-visible. The curvatures will be quite impressive then though. (So long as you suspend your disbelief that moving your head will cause things to change :) )

Just out of curopsity, how close is the exclusion zone in those cases? A few hundreds of km?

Just checked at a planetary nebula, the black hole at its center is 2.6133 solar masses. It becomes visible around 600 km (don't forget that the nebula background helps a lot with noticing it), dropping down is at 25 km. Body exclusion zone is hit at 24 km, can't get closer than that.

So basically, by the time you exit from the jump you are already inside the exclusion zone (at 30km/s is practically an instant). Nice to know :D

I got within 9m of one once, and chickened out at that point rather than hitting an exclusion zone. This was in 1.3 so it might not be possible any more.
