At this point, in December would you rather see....

1) another "normal" release with Fleet Carriers and new store items to decorate your carrier, delivered in the same manner as every other feature has been thus far,

or

2) nothing but bug fixes. No new features. No new gameplay. Just everything we have now, fixed.

...and hey, I know - it's not up to me or this question or any answer you can give. I'm just curious. FDev will FDev no matter what we say.
1.
2. has no sense because it will be ruined by following 1. So let's not waste time.

I've been hoping for #2 for the last two years - ever since FDev launched "Beyond" on the premise that it would be a year of "consolidating existing features and fixing bugs".

Course, in my more antagonistic moments, I might suggest we could have #1 and #2 if, instead, FDev dispensed with all the newbie stuff that nobody asked for.
I hope FDev has a chart, somewhere, which proves that increased uptake and retention of new players has made that stuff worthwhile.

You dont have to use the fss, you can still just fly close (1000ls i think) and get the same result
Just done some serious exploring, when you're about 2,500ly out of the bubble the system map is empty because no-one has discovered the planets etc, so then you need the fss to find the planets. The big problem I heard is that the fss is borked on PC and PS4, so you can't discover new planets on PC or PS4. Not a problem for me, I'm on XBox, but if you're a serious explorer on PC or PS4, that's gotta be a total game breaker!

The fss is fine on pc. You do not have to use the fss.

Bind the discvoery scanner to a firegroup, use it, then all the bodies come up as unexplored tragetable signals. Go within about 1000ls and you discover it

Option 1. I thrive in chaos

Scrap fleet carriers for now. Have all hands on deck to fix these bugs. Once the bugs are fixed then work on carriers, even if they end up being months later than planned.

FDev need to learn the old saying, quality over quantity. Fix the bugs before you add more stuff!

I think they should delay carriers a year to sort out the bugs and do QoL updates.....

Obviously kidding. If an update is going to break stuff, it may as well be a cool update. Spastic mission boards are NBD if I can kit out a fleet carrier while I wait for the patch patch and contribute to thread threads

Definitely number 2.
ED is so full of bugs and glitches and with every update there are more added to the pile, just check the issue tracker.
Yeah they try to fix some bugs with each update but new ones are ignored and added to the list of long standing bugs.

After this crash and burn update has been fixed to some extend then the December update will screw things up again making matters worse because of again new bugs being ignored and added to the pile.

Just my opinion, Fdev will do as they please, which frankly doesn't fill me with hopefull expectations.
I don't know what they're doing there in their offices but there's definitely something off.

Ah, did not know that. Thanks for explaining. I was forced to learn how to use the fss because I did not know that, and I must say I like using the fss, it's much less random than flying all over the system to see what the unexplored signals actually are. So it's good that I did not know how to use the discovery scanner fully. Now I know how to use the fss AND the full use of the discovery scanner! 😀

Have you noticed the latest patch has broken the mission board in a different way? 🙁

I seen in the exploration forum i think it was somebody found a system with loads of stars, like two full rows. And i thought, the FSS must have auto scanned all those stars. Most thing i ever heard.

Only that the pc folks are sharing our console misery now.
I haven't played since the initial update because of the horrible screen tearing on Xbox, it's realy annoying on a big 4k tv and I can't play longer then 15 minutes max.
I don't plan on playing untill they fix the screen tearing either.
