Automatic Nav Beacon Scan Data?

You're doing a "recover the doodad" mission.
You jump into the target system and you either scan the nav-buoy or you honk and you get a message telling you the exact location of the doodad.

Thing is, I've started getting these messages automatically, as soon as I arrive in a system.

Did I do something to make this happen or has the game thrown a wobbly? [where is it]

Some Mission types actually give you the Data without scanning the NAV Beacon, while some others don't - although the Mission Descriptions all read the same. Scan the NAV Beacon.

I tend to believe that's a Bug.

I use a advanced scanner and never have to scan the nav beacon for mission targets. As soon as I have honked, the information is there in the nav panel.

Edit:- Just a thought; have you been to said system before?

I have found it seems to happen when you have multiple missions in different systems.
You go to the first scan the nav beacon as normal, then on arrival in the second system it triggers automatically, like scanning the Nav beacon box has already been ticked for that mission to trigger the update when you are in the right system.

That is the working as intended alterative option

FWIW, I ended-up restarting the game last night and the auto-notifications went away after that. [where is it]

I'd taken on a whole heap of random "recover the thing" missions so I figured I'd let it carry on giving me the auto-notifications while I was finishing them all.
Afterwards, I quit the game, restarted, took another couple of missions and it was back to honking or scanning the nav-buoy.

I'm currently trying to max-out all the factions in about half a dozen systems near my home-base and I was wondering if the auto-notifications were some kind of "reward" you get when you reach a certain status in the region - some sort of "preferred customer bonus" thing.
I guess it was just a bug though.

I've had this happen when the system was repeatedly visited before and fully explored by my ship personally. It tended to make me honk at the beginning of each new play session, but I've had this happen before.

Edit: Was allied with controlling faction in the systems, too. Maybe it had something to do with it.

Hmmm...

As I said, I'm currently trying to max-out my rep with a whole heap of factions in about half a dozen systems so that does require me to constantly run missions back and forth to the same systems.

In that case, maybe it's not a bug after all and is something that kicks-in after you've hopped in and out of the same systems a certain number of times?

Seems to have stopped now but maybe it'll start again the next time I'm doing a heap of missions in the same group of systems?

If it is deliberate, it's kind of nice.

Indeed. It's a time saver for sure. It happened repeatedly while getting both my Imperial and Federal auxiliary ranks up. It also happened in the bubble of systems around Alioth when I was earning that permit. Once more, it occured in my former imperial home systems. If it's a bug, it's helpful and definitely reproducible.
