There’s a bunch of people in the comments acting as if the phrase “sounds of summer” is inseparably tied to bird songs. I’ve never heard it used in this context before any more so than any other “sound of summer”. The fact that there are so many people in the comments of this one random, specific video saying they “knew all along” and were “waiting for everyone else to figure it out” reads to me like wishful thinking based off of whoever said it first.

Nope, in Ornithology, the sounds of summer is a reference to the calls a number of birds around the world make when what we call summer ends and the shift towards fall begins. It is a phenomenon studied by scientist around the world, as their calls become extremely loud, I believe it was an Englishman the one that actually named it the sounds of summer.
I doubt Frontier possess such complex knowledge in ornithology. That would mean they had to read something about birds, which frontier actively avoid for unspecific reason.
People in the comments: "Thank you for the birds, it will be fun to play with them. I'm so happy!"

Here I would disagree. During JWE2 Dominion's DLC, they mentioned birds. Also never say never
Also why did they all wait a week and then come back to comment that it's birds, seems weird
JWE team can share what they learnt about ravens and eagles to our beloved PZ team. Maybe they will spark interest in such diverse group of animals?

I guess it could always be possible that it is unrelated and just a very wild coincidence. What it would be an insane coincidence if out of all the phrases in the world they picked "The sounds of summer" literally one of the most universally recognize phrases in Ornithology https://www.birds.cornell.edu/home/
As far as Frontier not having a clue, hard to believe, as birdwatching is huge in Eastern England where they are based, The University of Cambridge has an entire department dedicated to this.

I think that it’s a great guess! I wonder how much of it is wishful thinking though... We’ve been wanting birds for so long that it seems any connection, however loose, is being made. I do hope for birds as much as anyone else though! I just hope that when they do come, we get a fruit bat too.

Speculating is always fun but I personally don't expect anything other than what they posted.
Another typical sound at the end of summer/early autumn is the red deer calling during the mating season.

I want to know their drug dealer. He has some great stuff like famous ,,Bird Hopium,,.I don't know from where people on YT are getting the confirmation that this means will get a full DLC dedicated to birds but i do hope they are right

Interesting, I actually believe that it is something many species of animals do, not necessarily unique to birds, yet theirs is the most commonly known, since those are the sounds humans hear when venturing into jungles and forests at this time of year.
I honestly think that more than the actual behavior correlation with the dlc, the focus is on the phrase being such an iconic one to the birding community. I would imagine Frontier knows this very well and used it for their song track reference.
My opinion is that there is no real music album, it is just another tease and what they reveal will be 12 bird callings instead. The audio effects for the birds would be amazing, that is something Frontier does so well.
