AX Bounty Reduced?

this is fine for getting your combat bonds............ but given the patch reduced the combat bonds and instead boosted mission rewards, this is what you need to be in a wing to complete.

Finding where the action is, would be an important step.
After finding the action, i would assume one will get a wing invite if they request it - no idea tho since i never bother to ask for wings nor to get ax missions

The other approach would be to find and join a squadron, one that is interested in AX combat and eventually have players in nearby timezones.

nerfing the payouts for a perfectly functional and enjoyable game mechanic just seems silly.

they nerfed the payouts*, but they increased the means to make more interceptor kills (enhanced scanners, gimbaled ax mc with silly high projectile speeds, increased ax weapon counts)

IMO it rather balances out

Then I don't understand your insisting on arguing on this point. I've asked in many a CZ and it's about a coin flip. Some people don't pay attention to chat while they are fighting and many times the wings are full. Many of us are already in squadrons we don't want to simply abandon to jump into AX. That's another missing option in Elite. Being able to affiliate with other squads and easily communicate in-game.

Change the last hit only mechanic and the stupid numbers of extremely difficult interceptors to kill (or even find at present) and perhaps the mission boost would be more appealing.
 
Just killed 3 Cyclops and all registered 6.5m CR each!!!? Come on Pilots Federation!

BTW, CMDRs currently ranking about 40ish@Desurinbin on Inara but I did an experiment yesterday and I killed 1 Medusa + 2 Cyclops but only 1 additional kill was registered. How does the kill get assigned@AXZC?

I have had the same issue @Desurinbin killed 6 Hydra, 4 yesterday and 2 today and Inara rankings shows 1 Hydra and 1 Orthrus. I have not seen an Orthrus let alone killed 1 !
Dont know what happened to the others.

I read somewhere in the forum a year or two back that "assigned kills" had issues when in wing and syncing with Inara...probably same issue not resolved CMDR.

The rewards weren't nerfed, you fools!

Because the amounts and values on the interceptor kill missions were changed you can now get an extra 30m+ for an hydra kill (and 10 G5 mats) if you pick up a mission, probably similarly lucrative values for other interceptor types that show up on wing missions commonly.

Scout mission payouts were also slightly buffed, mostly in mats payouts and scout missions can easily be stacked form multiple factions if that's your thing.

if you play in open and not in a wing it is hard to get the kill count however......
 
That just adds a new mini-game of who can get the last hit.
not my bag that tbh with the scouts I am more interested in using my lasers and making sure I don't kill it before others land a few hits.... and the tougher thargoids are so rare any way that getting enough of them. to wrap up a mission with the time I have to game is challenge enough even if I knew I would get every kill.
 
Before getting out the pitchforks and acting like children whose favorite toy has been taken away you could also wait for a confirmation if this is intended or a bug.
Don't mind if I poke fun at them during our obligatory day of confusion. There must be a good reason they didn't release this in the morning. I assume everyone here loves Elite.

The Orthrus is there extra, I was changing the values yesterday to reflect the game update 14.02 payout changes and I had some old value (50mil) for Orthrus there for an hour or so and it caused this discrepancy, so take it as a "bonus kill". ;)

But as CMDR Saigon mentioned - there is currently a bug in the game journal not recording all the interceptor kills properly when in other than Solo mode, so there is entirely possible that some kills may be missing on Inara (when made in non-Solo mode, as they may be missing in the journal and thus Inara doesn't know about them). It was reported to Frontier long time ago, unfortunately, no fix for the issue was made so far.

Go scan some plants. Pays about 20 times more than this and requires 0 skill, 0 engineering and 0 modules.
And remember: it's balanced now.
 
ahhh so that is how some of the CGs get a massive hit right from the get go. i did wonder.
to be honest i would have thought it would be a bit of a no brainer that bounties or combat bonds would only count for ones earned AFTER the start of the CG, just thinking from a "if this was real life" point of view........

Aye, aye.

The game has similar checks for mining CGs: minerals must be MINED, not purchased, for them to count towards CG progress.

Why in the world does Fdev keep letting this bond/voucher stack up fraud to continue is beyond comprehension.

Under these circumstances, even the old values (2 millions) for bonds seem too much.
6.5 millions for 4 seconds is like free money.
 
if anything that confirms why i dont like (and have never used) premium ammo.... also he is using one of the hardest ships in the game to get.......... not saying its not possible in a chieftain or krait............ But
There is zero chance my ship would manage that. in the 1st kill without the magic bullets, the TTK was a lot more sensible, and his ship took a kicking with malfunctioning modules at the end, i expect he would have had a repair bill which would have taken a chunk of that.

You don't need premium ammo to instagib and even medium can do it with 5-plasma and perfect timing. At this point cyclops are demoted to trash mob status that I just kill to get to the actual stuff worth fighting.

This was premium ammo - if you count the time to collect materials for premium, then it's not 4 seconds only. And if you'll die to receive premium for free, Corvette rebuy is not cheap. It's easy to do it once to demonstrate this huge power, but another story is to continue with it, as a constant behaviour.
Yesterday I tried Anaconda with 6 Salvation's Shards (regular ammo) and 6 Sirius heatsinks, and we (6 - 7 players in AX CZ) had good luck, Medusa appears immediately, and we killed her really fast. And I thought - there's no sense to use premium ammo in this situation, there's no need. It has the sense only when you're alone, and only against strongest interceptors.
Now I'm happy with my FGS, 2 enhanced gimballed MCs, thermal beam, and 4 Gausses (2M + 2S). This is good medium ship for AX CZs. It's not perfect, it's slow - but it's not very important in AX CZ. And there are no perfect ships. But it's fun, and good for scouts and ceptors. And good for me to practice with Gauss, (regular Gauss, not Azimuth version) until now I always used Shards.

You dont need permium ammo (and i dont even mention the premium ammo suicide exploit) Check post #75 by @Disemboweled Ego
And you dont need a Vette which is rank locked and can only fit 5 medium frags and a small one. So less dps than ideal (the small frag not only has lower damage, it has lower piercing as well, diminishing the damage even more)

A Conda is much better option, it can actually fit 6 medium frags, it has quite nice convergence, and not at least, its not rank locked.
 
I see the changes as the usual give and take, the pay out on refugee has also been reduced by around 10% no big deal, I was more brassed off finding out there are no Cabins above Class 6, that must have always been a thing, It's just Why?
