Back to Elite and the Starmap is a mess

I do prefer the Horizons galaxy map myself, but the EDO version is not bad really. My only complaint with it, is that it just seemed a pointless waste of dev resources to change something that many do not think needed changing. In my opinion, it's not really worse, but it's not really better either. That I had to bother relearning something I already had down is part of that.

Now that I think of it, I did use a controller for selecting and plotting on both the galaxy map and system map some time ago beyond just navigation as I do now for Horizons, and I think this was due to some change a few years back where getting to and selecting fields in these popup menus became imprecise, like they would flutter between options. This was well before Odyssey. Well, maybe I just had some drift in my sticks or something that wasn't making use of the slight deadzone I use for flight controls.

I've gone from a Logitech Cordless Rumble Pad 2 (D-Input) to a Logitech F-710 (generic Xbox X-Input type) to an 8BitDo SN30 Pro+ (Nintendo Switch, Playstation, and Xbox X-Input type). The first one was the best for the game with its square analog stick ranges of motion for full multi-axes throws, but sadly it stopped working with its USB receiver, so I had to retire it well before its time. Had a good 30-foot range on that thing too.
