Backed the Kickstarter today, and immediately got the bug to play some old school Elite - it's BBC time!

Now to take it home (from my office 'museum') and see if I can get it to output to my projector :)

I've never actually played the original Elite: my adventure started with Frontier. I really should get round to that at some point: to play the game that really started it all...

With a setup like Slopey has there it ought to be illegal not to! :D

What I don't understand is how the heck I managed to miss it all those years: I used to have an Acorn Electron and from that I moved onto the Commodore 64! And I was nuts about any game to do with space. Weird!

Been having another go at the Amiga version of Elite.

Started a new game and accidentally launched from the station without any cargo.
Decided to carry on, enters hyperspace and ends up in witch space
Thargoids attack Managed to destroy two of em with missiles :S (seem to recall that the 8bit Thargoids always had ECM.)
Fired off the last missile at another Thargoid only for a messages to pops up saying the hyper drive is fixed, gets the hell out of there.:D
Arrives at destination and can't use the jump drive too much traffic, What's that ping ping sound, oh I know pirates.
So four dead pirates later and I'am feeling pretty pleased with myself :D now where that station
Lines up with station, easy does it and you can probably guess what happened.

Practice Spacegamer, practice! Admittedly I always found the Miggy version to be harder to do manual docking than any of the other versions, except for the NES as I never tried that one. Even the PC version seems easier in that regard, but maybe it just me.

Oh wait a minute, you playing this on your actual Miggy Spacegamer? If so have you cleaned your keyboard out recently?

Using the A500 and been using the joystick when docking never used the keys for docking.

Seems you have to be pretty much on line with the entrance, IIRC the 8 bit game was more forgiven.
