Bacon Cats!

Greetings to all Bacon Cats from Kepler-10, the first stop on my planned tour of as many of the KOI stars as possible.

I have to say the weather here is wonderful, though we did have a few showers on the way. Still, got here in one piece (mostly), and the accommodations are amazing. I've got a fantastic view of the sea from my window, though I've been told by the dishy-looking barman that they've been having a problem with more lava-flows than usual recently so it's probably best I don't go for a dip.

Oh, that reminds me. I had to stop off in seventeen different systems on the way here (last time I fly coach), and despite my best scanning efforts I couldn't find any decent bacon on *any* of them. Luckily I brought along a plentiful supply of squarepigs (see below) and later tonight I'm going to be teaching the locals how to make some proper streaky, and maybe even introduce them to pork scratchings. Yummy. :)

Anyway, that's all I've got time for right now. Apparently there's a party in a bit, though I've been warned that the atmosphere around here is a bit thin so I may have to go and find my own fun. Hope everyone back in the bubble is well, miss you all like crazy, and can't wait to see you all again.

Yours

CMDR Concubine

P.S. Next stop, Kepler-100.

Why are my brethren in those cages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So does this mean intergalactic BLT's are out of the question?

No BLT's!!!

While I admit I do serve her Highness under the table, I am an independent Privateer who detests slavery. Just because the bacon I sell comes from her system is not meaning that the bacon itself is political. It is just that the Razorbacks from the Cuebo system are a good abundant source of high quality Bacon. And having permission to operate out of the system means I can bring cargo holds full of this Bacon to other systems and through other Bacon Cats into both Alliance and Federation territories.

Our goal is to bring the best Bacon Rashers to everyone in the universe, and Cubeo Razorback Bacon is a hit.

*Well.. it is a lot easier to move em alive.. it keeps the bacon fresh for long transport.. and BLT's they are fantastic. Cubeo Razorback Bacon, Nanomam Romain Lettuce, and an Alioth Ruby Tomato... we are talking a sandwich that causes your mouth to transcend the Universe.

Greetings Bacon Cats!

For those of you who are currently using, or plan to use, Inara.cz, the Bacon Cats Wing (Group) has now been added and can be found here. I've simply copied and pasted the history from the OP of this thread for the Wing's history, and will have a look at getting a Wing Badge sorted out at some point.

Fly safe Commanders.

Are you sure? I know there's one in Gleise 868 (#1). Did you mistake the numbers or is it another Bacon City/Port/Dock?

Either way, thanks for thinking of us!

Oh yeah, sorry. Definitely Gliese 868. I recall seeing another outpost called Bacon Station somewhere though. I feel like it was around Jawuru, Thakpati area, wish I could remember.

Someone posted a pic of a Bacon PORT, which I haven't seen before & which unfortunately didn't show or mention the sector :(

:D What about its erstwhile pre-packed cousin pork scratchings though?

I make those out of guildies :D

Pork scratchings are the very food of the Bacon Gods, and should only ever be eaten on holy days (i.e. any day with a 'y' in its name).

Got to be careful with that - some interpret the Bacon Tenets in quite a different way (the heathens) and set every Holy Day to be "tomorrow" :(

There's a world of difference between crackling and scratchings - but both have a high pork-fat index! Personally, I much prefer crackling.

Indeed. Isn't one simply deep-fried skin, and the other skin slow-roasted in salt? I'm not a huge fan of either to be honest - but I'll grab a bacon sarnie any day :)

'Simply'? 'SIMPLY??????!!!' There is nothing simple about the amazing delicacy that is pork scratchings.

*shakes head and mutters* Some people just have no appreciation of the finer things in life...

You can keep your pork scratchings.

Give me bacon-wrapped black pudding any day :D
