Bacon Cats!

How's it going Mouse?

I have not played since 12 Feb, but Eventure is going to release a TCE update that helps track BGS stuff. I'll probably log on to help him test/debug it.

Haven't been on in over a week.. Was going to make a run to Colonia and real life said "Hey guess what!" *headdesk*

IIRC, they are empire, so maybe some empire rank grinders. It is really tough as Independent when there's no reward for working for them.

I messed about in Beta, but forgot to look in live to see what's up. 2.3 drops in two weeks-ish, but there's nothing in it that draws me in, if you know what I mean.

Well, beta testing is on hold due to some errors in TCE. So I went into live and took a look around. It is not pretty. Bad actually.

Overall, BCats can't gain inf really because of War in Balath'sine. BCats and the faction BCats are at war with, Balath'sine Netcoms, are both at 1.0 %. Meaning there's no way to change inf, meaning stuck in War forever. Or, for 28 days, then maybe BCats will go into 'retreat' from Balath'sine, which would be ok. Problem is, in the mean time, BCats can't gain inf anywhere else (could bounty hunt, and turn in vouchers in other systems, but that is going to be like fighting a large forest fire by urinating on it.).

The point is BCats can't gain inf anywhere else now, which is likely why BCats inf is falling everywhere else, and will continue the free fall.

In Baltha'sine, BCats at 1.0, at War with B Netcom at 1.0. Pretty screwed here with inability to gain inf.
In Priva, BCats at 46.6, with PEG at 32.8.
In Raurugba, BCats at 24.6, and Natural Oxossi at 24.3. No war due to current war in Balth.
In Yota, BCats at 32, with PEG at 36.9. No War/losses there due to war in Balth.
In LTT 2863, Bcats at 5.5. Don't care about this system anyway, other than changes there impacting states elsewhere.
HR 2283, BCats at 10.7. Gave up on this system due to Fed rep grinders.

I'm not sure how to get out of this even if there were enough people to try, which there isn't. Bad times. :(

*edit: folks in BGS thread telling me you can still gain inf in War if inf of both at 1. I guess my info is outdated. Before I even start, Mouse, are you interested in maintaining BCats with me (obviously, RL always wins)? I don't want to take over the galaxy, just maintain what BCats have, maybe even do a little pruning. Is anyone else interested in BCats? If not, that's cool, I'll find other stuff to do.

Hi Abil and Mouse

I am happy to help out with the Bcats when I can. I'll be honest and say that BGS isn't really my favorite part of the game, and I'm really only so-so when it comes to CZ combat. Still, I keep my eye on this thread, and will try to help out as I have in the past. :)

I am still in it, though when her Royal Highness the Baconatrix started this, we were just going for Priva. We don't want an empire or anything so how far back should we prune?

Hi Abil and Mouse

I am happy to help out with the Bcats when I can. I'll be honest and say that BGS isn't really my favorite part of the game, and I'm really only so-so when it comes to CZ combat. Still, I keep my eye on this thread, and will try to help out as I have in the past. :)

I mainly explore and trade, so I understand... plus have always been glad of any help provided.

Here is what I think we should do...

Shore up Priva, Raurugba, and Yota.

First priority should actually be Raurugba. BCats are in the worst position there. Since we're at war in BaltahSine, all we can do is turn in BCat and fed/imp bounties at Endate in Raurugba. IIRC, there is a low Res in Raurugba by planet 3. That will be your best spot to find bounties paid by BCats.

Second would be Priva due to population. Same method for improvement.

Third would be Yota, since it's tiny pop makes it easy to move inf. Same method for improvement.

We should get out of Balathsine and HR 2283.

Balathsine first since we're already super low inf and at war. The way to get out is to fight in the CZ's for the other side (Balathsine Netcomms). After we lose that war, keep our inf below 2.5 % by keeping others high. Which factions I can figure out later. Once we are out of the war, that opens up our options to move inf in other systems.

HR2283. When able, after we're out of Balathsine, we should run missions for the other factions, except the controlling faction, which will give us best bang for buck. We get our inf below 2.5% and keep it there for 3-5 days, we will retreat out of the system.

We should -actively watch- and keep inf in Priva, Raurugba, Yota, and LTT 2863 BELOW 70%...ideal would be to keep it at 65%.

This will keep us from getting to 75% and triggering expansion. Since Yota and LTT 2283 are so small, that should be easy, but takes constant watching to make sure inf is where we want it. When we do have to do something to keep inf low, it will not take much effort due to the low pop in those systems. In Priva and Raurugba, we just need to watch the states, since that's usually what triggers others to trade there and drives inf up. I don't think this maintenance will be all that taxing.

So, for right now...

If you guys could get some bounties paid by BCats or Fed/Imp (don't shoot ANY BCat ships) and turn them in at Raurugba first, then Priva, then Yota, that would begin to bring up our inf in those systems. Kill Warrant Scanners will help get you more cash. Remember not to take ANY cargo when hunting, that way you will only fight those you pick to shoot at. If/when you get bounties not paid by BCats or Fed/Imp, you can safely turn them in at an interstellar factors contact in a Low Security system...suggest Yota for now.

I can go into the CZ's in Balathsine and fight for the BNetcoms so we lose the war there.

Sound ok?

The situation is slowly improving. We successfully lost the war in Baltah'sine, but for some reason our inf went from 1 to 2.8. Meh. When I get time, I'll run some missions for the other factions there, except for the controlling faction.

Otherwise, we're now in Civil Unrest. This will work out somewhat, as bounties count double towards inf. That should last about 3 days, then we are pending outbreak and boom.

Did a little bounty hunting in Raurugba earlier (300k Bcats bounties), and will do a little more later, but then I'm away again for a few days...

Will look back in when I get back and basically follow your suggestions in the post above. :)

Bcats currently at 45% and rising (they were at 38% yesterday) in Raurugba, so I'll do a couple more bounty hunting sorties and that should push them up over 50%. What are we aiming for? If I have time later I will swing over to Priva...

Cool deal man, nice work. Ideally, Priva, Raurugba, and Yota are all at 65%. There is no rush unless one of the other factions is close to our inf. Once we're at 65 in all 3, we just need to keep it there, and make sure it doesn't get to 75%.

We should be out of Baltah'sine soon, and then can work on getting out of HR 2283.

Ok... I'll keep doing what I'm doing for a while, I have a bit of time today. Just done another 1.5m bounties for Bcats out of that RES you mentioned, the other factions are all on the way down, and quite a way from Bcats. Might have a pop at Yota if that will be easy to move. I presume Yota and Priva will however be slower as there are no RES, so it's just nav beacon or USS?

What's the plan for getting out of HR 2283?

The nav beacons at Priva and Yota have actually not been too bad. IIRC, I spent about 20 min and got about 400K. In addition to nav/uss, if you dare, you can take missions TO Priva and Yota, and you will have a decent chance of getting interdicted. Or if you carry around some eng mats, you may also get interdicted. If the guy that interdicts you is a BCat (not very likely), you can high wake...otherwise, kill dem!

Same method as Baltah'sine to get out of HR 2283...do missions for the lowest influence factions, except for BCats. That should drain the most from the top faction, but will also drain from the other factions.

Yes, I just spent an hour or so at Yota nav beacon and did nearly 500k for Bcats, so hopefully that will help. We are already over 50% there, so that should be easy. Will take a look at Priva too. Won't be on much tomorrow, but hopefully we can consolidate Bcats in Priva, Yota and Raurugba...
