Bacon Cats!

Well, Bcats are 50% in Raurugba, 57% in Yota, so all going to plan there.

In Priva however, influence hasn't moved (at 49% with a red down arrow) despite the fact that I must have handed in over a million credits in bounties for Bcats yesterday. Seems strange.

All changed a bit after the update, although I don't think there's been a tick between my post yesterday and today, but maybe.

Raurugba @ 51% (down arrow), Yota @ 58% (down arrow) and Priva @ 52% (up arrow). Very mysterious this BGS stuff is... :)

I have a feeling the Priva 'stuck' inf is due to the retreat from Baltahsine, but I'm not sure about that. I noticed they were offering 0 missions in Priva as well.

Patches always hose up the BGS, and it's fuzzy enough to begin with. I keep a set of chicken bones nearby to throw at the computer after I do my work for the BGS. Sometimes it helps.

Right, and I just noticed a post from Zac on the forums stating there were some BGS issues with the update and that they'd fix it tomorrow, so no activity today will be useful.

Ok. BGS was reset to Monday's levels earlier today, and I've done a chunk in Raurugba, and a small chunk in Yota. Will see what the effect is after the next tick.

Just out of interest, is anyone else doing anything...? :) We should be able to get Bcats to decent levels in a few more days, I'm just trying not to rank up too quickly, I generally don't farm like this. :D

Abil, are there other things that people can do besides bounty farming, or is that still the only way to affect influence at the moment? Unfortunately, I only have a combat ship down here...

I've been bumping about. I'm in right now!

It looks like with the BGS fart from the update, we are still in retreat, even though it should have ended yesterday.

The retreat failed, btw, so I guess I need to do more missions than I was doing to keep our inf low in Batah'sine.

While we are still in retreat, I think all we can do is bounty hunt for Raur and Yota. I think Priva is stuck due to the retreat state.

Once retreat ends, we will be in boom or outbreak. This is our chance to get inf up, by any means, in Priva, and Raur/Yota.

Yota is almost at 58%, so not too much work left there until we hit 65%.

Raur is still only at 50%, so continued focus there is needed.

After we get Priva/Raur/Yota to 65%, we'll try effecting a retreat from Baltah'sine again.

So, Faded, if you keep up what you're doing (Raur and Yota), and I shift to helping with that instead of working Batah'sine, we should be able to get Raur/Yota to 65% no problem. I will stay out of Yota so only your bounties count...don't want to go too far past 65%. If you take a break, let me know, and I'll fill in in Yota.

I'll do that then. Have done a few sessions in Priva too, but I'll concentrate on Yota and Raurugba. I doubt your input will push us too high TBH, I generally just do a couple of sessions in each place totaling around a million in Bcats bounties in a day.

I'll keep going, no worries. :)

Roger that.

Keep an eye on your faction standing...once you go hostile with the factions you're killing, you'll get more attention from them.

Also note that with 2.3...DO NOT turn in Fed/Imp/All bounties in BCat systems. I will all go to the Fed/Imp/All factions in the system and just hurt the Cats.

edit*--------------------------------
It looks like the tick is now around 1230 - 1245 EST. :p

We are out of Retreat.

That opens up other options for increasing inf, also, Priva should be able to move now, or at worst, tomorrow.

The inf numbers are:
Priva: 50.3, up 0.2
Raurugba: 54.3, up 3.9
Yota: 55.4, down 2.4

I'm not sure why the 'down' inf in Yota.

So, missions, bounties, and trade for BCats should be done in Priva, Raurugba, and Yota. We are still shooting for 65% in each.

Wasn't in for last 2 days due to patch and kept getting DC'd yesterday so I gave up. Before that Abil I've actually been noticing for a while that in Priva after doing a bunch of missions for Bcats that missions would be 0 for a bit.

Yeah, I've seen that before too. Usually waiting a bit (few min) or doing other stuff will allow it to repopulate. I'm in there now doing missions, but I've only done about 5, and it's still feeding me missions, even if they are the same type...plan scan and delivery. That may be down to our 'none' state though.

As all that I have down here is a combat ship, I'll just carry on doing bounty farming. :)

Done a couple of sessions in Yota, handed in just shy of a million credits, all for Bcats bounties, so let's see if that reverses the fall in inf there.

I'm afraid this isn't looking too good... :(

Despite handing in those bounties yesterday, there's no change in influence, which seems strange for such a small sparsely populated system, unless I'm completely misunderstanding the BGS (which is entirely possible).

On the other hand, Raurugba has gone up 6% and is now sitting at 60%. I know Abil was active there yesterday, and I did another million credits in bounties for Bcats there, but even so, I'd have expected Yota to move...

Raurugba 60% (up from 54%)
Yota 55% (no change)
Priva 50% (no change)

Yeah, it feels like something is borked. I ran several missions out of Priva and turned in Raur bounties.

If I had to bet, it's the "major faction bounties now go to each major faction in the system" plus "increased effect of bounties on influence" working together to screw us (or any Independent faction really).

I'll give it some more time to see if the boom/outbreak state helps, given our control of the major ports in each system.

If the two of us are not enough to counter random rank grinders, we are truly screwed.

*edit: if this keeps up, and we simply can't counter the random rank grinders, we might want to think about asking Julissa and then FD if we can change to Empire (can't do fed as no fed in Priva). Something to think about.

Well, I'm at the Yota nav beacon now... Not great spawns, but I should be able to get to half a million. All of these are for Bcats, no major faction bounties, and I'm careful not to destroy the wanted Bcats ships.

But it's a bit weird how Rauriga jumped 6%, and yet Yota, which I think from what you say should be easier to move, didn't move at all.

In Yota, from what I see, the factions that went up were the two Empire and the two Feds. The three Ind factions lost inf. That means, despite working Yota for only the Cats, there are enough random Fed/Emp rank grinders that bounty hunt (there or elsewhere and turn in at Yota for whatever reason) to cause those changes.

It's basically the double whammy I mentioned.

It's possible that in Raur, what you were doing (and the 3 or 4 missions I did there) was enough to counter the randoms, and only 3 of the 7 are Emp and no Feds.

Same situation in Priva, but I only did missions, no bounties. So, the bounties others turned in for the Emp had more of an effect than my missions. Previously, the number of missions I did would have been enough for ~ 2% increase in our inf.

When boom hits, trade effects are double, and most rank grinders bounty hunt, so that will help us.

With outbreak, it's even better...combat has no effect, but trading meds has double effect.

So basically, "none" state can really hurt us, while boom/outbreak/famine all help us.

Man it's complicated... :D

I'd be surprised if many people bounty hunt in Yota, the nav is not a great spawn location and I don't think there are any RES there. Also the two outposts don't have restock. But who knows, about 50 ships passed through in the previous 24 hours, and only one was me.

Rauriga yesterday, I know I did one session late in the day in the RES and did a million in bounties, so not bad, but not huge, and that system is presumably more likely to be a haunt for random player BH'ers due to the RES, which spawns pretty well. Also presumably a bigger system, so inf slightly harder to move?

Anyway, I just did this today..

...so let's see what happens tomorrow. :)

Cool man. I'm doing missions out of Priva.

We're in boom, so we need Mouse to come in and do some trading in Priva/Raur.

Is bounty hunting still useful? I could zip back to my home system and do a bit of ship transferring and bring my Python down for delivery missions and the like...

But yes, come on Mouse... The Bcats need you. :D ;)
