badly stuck, no way out :/

As said above, I think the only way out (if possible at all) will be to wait for 3.3 and get the mass reduction from the elimination of the ADS. I don't know if that'll get you the range you need, but given that you can't get Polonium and are already pushing your fuel as low as possible it's probably the only chance.

Do you know if the other white dwarf system has any landable bodies or not? If so, they might have Polonium. Then you'd just need a fuel rat to come out to you and you could get away. Or there might be another star reachable from there? (If you've already been there and got stuck now on your way back, that's no use of course)

still haven't had a system location which makes it problematic to offer advice/look at route options.

The presence of only WD and NS and the ranges between the systems indicates he may be somewhere high above/below the plane or that he's filtering star types (I once called the Rats 'cos I forgot I was filtering on NS and WD :), wont be the last to do this).

More info please Cmdr and check your filters..

That's a really good question actually and I can't seem to find a definitive answer on a quick forum search. If you land and then destroy the SRV does that reduce the weight of your ship and increase its jump range? By enough??

Not in game at the moment sadly but perhaps someone could test this for you before you take such a drastic step?

AFAIK no because when you install an SRV in the SRV bay it doesn't increase mass.

Long story short, we need to know the current location, the min/current/max ranges of the ship. Loadout would be helpful as well to see if 3.3 will materially change anything. As of now, if fuel level is the issue, that can be managed, if jump range is the issue, then not much can be done.

I have spent a lot of time up at the galactic ceiling, and have a lot of practice eeking out difficult routes, and am confident if there is a way out, we will find it. We just need to know what we are working with.

Ask FD to help you out, maybe they can spawn a crash site with some. I am sure it is possible for them to do this. The sky gods have the power! Or you could ask the Thargoids if they would be so kind to help you out, you never know.

I'm about 4000ly from SOL and reached the "galactic ceiling". I don't have any filters applied because getting here required any available star and those are rare. I took me 1000 ly to get here from my starting location with normal star density. First 500ly was fine, next 200 was like in a labyrinth and last 300 ly was only possible by applying fsb injections (mostly +25's and some +50).

But if you got rats to fill you up then SC until range reduced enough to make jump it would be doable, and yes it does work I have gotten my self stuck in the past and used the method, it takes hours if not days to travel at 2000c to reduce the range, you have to keep an eye on it and calculate your usage to distance covered and time to predict when you are getting close as you can scupper yourself in deep space.

I was thinking of shortening the distance by flying up 2ly in supercruise and with fsb boost +50% I should be able to jump back to the neutron star, but there is a catch - my fuel reserve must be relatively low otherwise I wont be able to make this jump :/ My current jump range is 91.99 (with +50% dwarf boost) and with more fuel jump range will decrease :/

Can you make it out if you jump to a non-scoopable star and get refuelled there, then make it somewhere?

I'd love to, but my picture posted on page 1 says it all. Neutron star system has a red dwarf and this system is my salvation, but I'm short of 1.8ly of jump range ...

While I am sure it is possible for them to do this, you may as well just ask them to add Plutonium to the inventory. Much like what happened for a few commanders in the distant stars expedition being moved by support on request, and then getting tags up there, this would be a terrible precedent to set.

As far as I know, FD won't help players cheat ....

His best bet is wait for 3.3 to drop. His mass will go down enough I think to make that extra 2 ly jumprange.

Unfortunately, the jump is calculated from the entry star, so flying out does not change the jump distance. This has been tried and tested many times

No cargo, all I carry is SRV. Is crashing the SRV going to help me with getting better jump range?

EDIT:I I'm leaving. Will reply all questions in the evening.

This is why SRV's should have mass, not the hangar for them. In such a situation, you could sacrifice the SRV to save your butt.

maybe not so much as cheat but spawn a crash site or something just to help out. I mean its not like he hasn't earned a bit of respect for doing this.

I know from experience with the Gal Map, that sometimes I have spent hours looking for a specific route, and unable to find one. Then I come back the next day with fresh eyes, and find one I missed earlier. If we had the system you are in, we may be able to find something.

I am currently sitting at 2001c I targeted a star my ship can't jump to even empty - currently whittling it down knocked off 0.2 lyr sofar downside is rough calculations reckons another 4-5 hours at this untill I can get in jump range.

I have done it before no matter what others may say, it was however several versions back so things may have changed.

Currently 22.1 lyr away at around 3.9 days travel time

22.1 / 3.9 = about 5.6 hours at 2001c to do 1 light year

my jump limit in krait (empty) is 22.18 I chose a star that was about 22.4 away with my tank full I knew I could not reach even if on fumes my current jump distance has climbed to 21.42 from around 21.34 when I started ( i dumped cargo from mining).

It'll be interesting if the beta lets me jump going out later so may have to post results when I get back (if it hasn't run dry that is!)

On second thoughts may close game before I go out then continue on later

Also turned everything off I can to save wasting fuel in SC

Imagine you had Limpets and a Refuel and/or Repair Controller onboard.
With the Target Ship locked, you enter your Materials page, click on "Polonium", set an amount (1 to 10) and choose an Option "Transfer".

A Limpet launches towards the Target Ship and Voila : its poor CMDR sees the HUD Message "Transfer complete - x Polonium collected".

Despite being asked by numerous Cmdrs that want to help, the OP has still not provided their current system. If they are >4000Ly from Sol and >1000Ly up in the roof, there's no danger to them from providing the system name.

'fraid I'm gonna leave this guy to his own devices if he don't actually want help
o7 to whoever does manage to get the info and provide an assist...

AFAIK only the ADS weight will be saved.
No way a 2 ton reduction is going to increase range 1.8ly on DBX. Even with the x2 boost.

Ah interesting may found long term bug

Nav panel updates closing distance to selected system as does the HUD The selected target panel does not.

But if you select something else and then reselect the system intending to jump to the recalculated distance displays correctly so now I am 22 lyr away instead of 22.35 that it was.

Maybe that caused failed jumps for others before?

Still won't know for sure until I complete this test.
