Barriers From Planet Coaster please

Can we get the Barriers from planet coaster, i mean the ones with the red lint on them that guest and staff cant cross, i always used it to place around lamp posts so they dont walk through them but also used them around fountains and such. This would be so usefull for this game too.

Asking again for 2020, can this handy thing please be added in an upcoming patch. I would really like to have it so i can make paths with fountains and so they dont walk through it or dont walk through my lamp posts.

Or how about they make it so you don't have to use such a barrier but instead make walls and fountains be objects that guests can't actually walk through? It's so stupid to see guests just straight up ignoring walls unless I build a path that's exactly as wide as the door so they don't 'use the walls'. ANIMALS don't walk through walls, but guests do!

Except it's not a solution. It's a workaround for something that shouldn't be an issue. When I place a wall I don't want to have to be forced to work around the fact that if my path is too wide they'll just magically phase through walls. It's a restriction that I have to work with, not a solution. <nope>

I suspect adding object physics to guests would be a performance hit the game really can't afford right now. I get around it by not putting anything on a path that I don't want guests to walk through. Fortunately, guests are confined to the paths. If I want a fountain on a plaza I delete the bits of path below the fountain and just fill in the gaps with a floor piece or something. It works and I'd rather do that than have red barriers.

Guests in Planco only have object physics when they are flying like the train cars do. When they just walk on paths that is not enabled.

You can test this in Planco. Technically I think they might have the same properties in Planet Zoo.

The barriers in planco can be fully submerged under terrain and still hold that effect.

It's just way easier than fiddling with the paths that are easy to cover but can be hard to work with.

Having a few barriers in game that block guests like scenery blocks animals shouldn't be that hard on the games performance I guess.

Hm, that would be a nice idea, to use the null barrier to make sure guests don't 'phase through walls'. I'm going to have to try that out. Still... it shouldn't even be an issue in my opinion. ;-)

Null barriers don't stop anything - guests, staff, animals - all walk right through them. The only purpose of these barriers is so that the game can detect a closed habitat when you want to use nature and construction objects to actually confine your animals. As a rule of thumb - pretty much every object stops animals and pretty much no objects stop people.

Exactly, i tried that on release day. That is why i requested the Barriers from PlanCo because it would solve many visual problems, i just dont like my guests and workers walking through fountains and lampposts it takes away my visual enjoyment. Great to see so many others like to see it being ported over. Lets hope they will do it. The team is known to listen to ideas and implement them so lets hope fpr the best
