Been there, now want to get back.

Forgot to mention - about Spansh - I have dual monitor setup so having ED on one and route planned on the second is convenient, no alt tabbing required.

Also - can anyone estimate ship transfer cost? Current Clipper value is 121M. Is there any mean to predict module transfer costs? Colonia - Bubble is roughly 22k LYs distance. I expect entire ship transfer being too expensive so maybe single module won't bankrupt me.

Depends on exactly where in the bubble you're transferring to, but 1.3x the cost of the transferred thing will be close enough as an estimate.

So about 160 million credits to transfer the whole Clipper, or less if you dismantle it first and only transfer the modules.

I guess this is the wrong place, but would it be possible to save the Spansh result such that you can "import" it to the game as "Visited Systems", setup the repsective galaxy map filter to show just the visited systems, and then let the in-game plotter plot the same route?
This probably wouldn't work, because the Spansh plotter is willing to take much more indirect routes than the in-game plotter, so the in-game plotter would give up and break the filter restriction before it went that much to the side of the direct line.

Which is better depends on where you are in the galaxy:
- in dense neutron areas (get to +/-1000LY height within ~15000 LY of the core), the in-game plotter is much better, as you don't need to worry about copy/paste and it leaves refuelling breaks automatically
- in well-mapped sparse neutron areas, Spansh will probably save you some jumps by being willing to take a more indirect route to get to the neutrons it knows about
- in poorly-mapped sparse neutron areas, the in-game plotter probably wins again, just because Spansh won't yet know about enough neutrons to plot a good route. But if you're out in that sort of area you're probably not doing the sort of high-speed travel where Spansh is useful anyway.

6 hours!? o_O
Here's a link for you!
Yes I scanned all Neutron Stars and I had to make "micro-jumps" to the nearby red dwarves to refuel. Consider also that the Anaconda turns very slowly so when I had to make a couple of passage it took more time to have the boost.
My speed was roughly 4000 ly per game session (in the neutron highway) and I usually play 1 hour/day and the last 1000 ly to SOL are not covered.

Exactly to Cubeo as there i have all my fleet and modules stored. Door to door delivery :p 160M for entire ship doesn't sound that bad. I have 142M Anaconda stored so while on Jacques I can quick check how much would it be to get her to Colonia. Clipper is 20M cheaper so overall transfer would be equally less. Rough estimate in-game but would give me some info about costs. If it be too high I might just strip valuable parts and transfer just those and re-buy Clipper after return.

Sounds like a plan.

Dunno man... 6 hours in the 50Ly Annie sounds a lot. Did you use Spansh or just the in-game map for navigation?

Could be the 50 LY Anaconda didn't have enough of a jumprange to make the most out of the neutron boosts. My 75 LY Anaconda made the same trip in around 3 hours.

Greetings CMDRs,

long time no see. Early this year I "accidentaly" got to Colonia, not entirely planned destination but I ended there. Tried mining but decided to revisit Sag with a style so I switched to my Coba mk III with 25th Anniversary paintjob and started flying. Now we have May and I'm still ~500 LYs from Jaques. Haven't been playing since ... early March? Slow crawl toward Sag drained all my stamina. So now I have a change of plans and I'm trying to figure out how to get to the Bubble fast.

First I'll need to get back to Jacques and get my 50 LYs jumping Clipper. Then head home. Bit of road and I fear it would take me another 2 weeks before I get home. So I'm left with one option - the one I haven't tried so far - Neutron Highway. So what... spansh?

What would you suggest for quick and low time consuming Colonia-Bubble return?
You should try to enjoy the voyage home. Admittedly I'm not much of an explorer, but I think this quote will do nicely:

"We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time."
- T.S. Eliot

The Clipper should make a good neutron-jumping ship with the right outfitting. IIRC, it's one of only two ships that can mount a fuelscoop that is two sizes larger than the FSD (the T9 is the other). With neutron-scooping, you're jumping from one neutron to the next, collecting boosts each time but not refuelling. So you keep going until you're nearly out of fuel, then detour and fill up at a normal star. I'd fit a good size 7 scoop and a 64t fuel tank in the size 6 slot, as the Clipper's default 16t tank won't get you far: this will take you up to 80t fuel. You want to be able to make many jumps, then suck in a lot of fuel as quickly as possible.

Don't forget an AFMU to repair your FSD when it starts to malfunction. You can keep the AFMU switched off until you need it, as it does draw quite a lot of power. Don't forget to drop out of SC before fixing the FSD, or you will crash out and take damage.

You can repair and restock at Kashyapa, Gandharvi, Sacagawea (Skaudai CH-B d14-34), Rohini, and Mammon.

Pasting from Spansh is OK once you've settled into the routine. After leaving each jet-cone, I flip to the galmap, remind myself which system I'm in, then flip to Spansh. Find your system and grab the next one, then back to ED and you're already on the right page to paste it in.

Allright, deal is done. I'm back in the Bubble.

So this is what happened. As I said earlier, I was trying to reach Sag for a quick re-visit as I already got to Colonia. Long story short - plans changed and instead of exploring I wanted to play merchant. That 22k LYs distance was a bit of a problem, also I was bit over 500 LYs from Jaques. Mere 16 jump with my Cobra mk III and I was at the station. I didn't want to suicide since I had some exploration data, turned out it was over 11M.

While at the station I sold all of my mining and trading equipment and Python which served as miner/trader. About 80M total. Then I switched to Clipper and gutted her out of valuable modules. Sold the ship and most unengineered modules, 7A fuel scoop included - this part alone gave me nearly 10M, on top of ship and rest. With things sorted out I bought Suicidewinder and left Jaques.

Pressing the self destruct button wasn't my way so I performed an experiment. Stock Winder vs Colonia system main star. I rammed exclusion zone at full speed, deployed weapons and started shooting at star. If it goes supernova you can name the nebula with my name for it was I who made that :p Ok, so here I am, puny Sidewinder shooting peas at the star. I struggled to raise temp to 200%, constant shooting, boosting and flying toward the sun. In the final moments my temp dropped to moderate level of 147%. Then eject happened.

Rebuy screen, picked Freewinder in the Bubble and few seconds later I was about 22k LYs away from my grave. Immediately bought Hauler, outfitterd with best available modules, sold Freewinder and started flying home. Again - 16 jumps. 1E fuel scoop takes imposibly long to refuel. Luckily I had just one fuel stop, rest was on the go. I reached home station with enough fuel to make one more jump.

While at home I checked fees for module transfer. I decided to get 5A G5 FSD (6M), modded ADS, modded PP and sensors. Those modules costed below 200k a piece. 5H gFSDb I sold for 6M - transport fee was over 8M, yeah. I can buy it on place, no need to wait for delivery.

As I was told, 1.3x value multiplier is taken under consideration when calculating costs. In my case it was 131.9% and 132.1%, depending on module. Overall costs was about 7M total. Spare change considering it saved me weeks of flight. Only drawback is that my workhorse - 5A G5 FSD - will be delivered in 61 hrs, so mid monday.

After sorting things I took my Krait and went delivering cargo missions. Nothing fancy, 800k - 1.8M a piece, few runs. When I uploaded logs into Inara it said I "earned" 195M. Well, I sold lots of high grade modules, some exploration data, 2 ships (Python and Clipper) + thrown about 10M from missions. While flying in the bubble I noticed few things:
  • new starting screen
  • Hauler had new modules, SC assist (dunno what it does, turned it off)
  • docking comp (used for the first time, I love it!!!!)
  • new trading UI

Now, plan is to get trading elite. 1.5 rank left, tonight I raised it by 3 percentage points so it may take a while.

My thanks to all who shared their insight and helped me get back to the Bubble. You guys rock.
