Behold the scrub

Understood... However, face it, there are not many women who like flying spaceships. And although we are just as capable, many women chose not to. And that is their right. Hopefully some of us will be able to teach our daughters that flying and obliterating other spaceships is really fun and that more women are active as pilots in ED.

Sure, I know we're in the minority when it comes to spaceship games and I'm totally with what you say here - I've always seen it as skill, ability and approach that defines us in videogames, not gender.

I was definitely remiss in mentioning only females.... males also want to feel safe, but are not as ready to admit it. Some PvE Carebears, Men and Women, definitely do need White Knighting. If eventually we do have space legs and base building, some areas need to be utterly secure if any PvE Carebear is to be persuaded to develop planets in Open. Otherwise, both men and women will choose to play in Solo or in PG, and Open has lost yet another chance to be more diverse.

I understand where you're coming from; I do like your posts and your journey in discovering the PvP aspect of the game has been great to follow! I think that's why I was quite shocked that you singled out female players as needing rescuing, it seemed out of place with what I've got used to coming from you. That's on me as much as it is you.

I agree that there are probably men and women commanders who might appreciate white-knighting from vigilantes, but I would prefer players of whatever demographic to play in Open knowing and accepting the risks and taking responsibility for themselves. If they don't want to accept those terms, I'd prefer they stick to PGs and Solo.

How about you treat me as a fellow player of Elite Dangerous and accept your defeat with good sporting grace?

That would be lovely! :)
I agree that is probably the best approach as long as you can meet me half-way and acknowledge it is unlikely. :D

To be honest, I'll probably leave the lady players alone and go after metrosexuals.
So... where exactly does Phisto hang out these days?

We all enjoy shooting other players in one form or another.

More solidarity between lawfuls and unlawfuls would go a long way. After all, one side without the other makes things pretty dull for either party. It's mostly a symbiotic relationship.

PvPing has always been a section of the community that serves its own ends, scrubbery or not, we all push each other to improve on a daily basis, I' love to see less [REDACTED] in the PvP community and more efforts to showcase the bright minds and willing hands we actually have.

Hell, maybe in the long term, if it's played right then the PvE community, or at least some of them, will start to see us less like murdering lunatics and more like people who just enjoy the challenges our playstyle provides.

Man or Woman, we're all in the same boat and it's a bloody vapid game without other players to fill the void.

PewPew!
