Clipper equiped with two class 3 gimballed beams and one class 2 railgun here. All three weapons are by default in a regular firegroup with the beams on primary and the rail on sec. When the target activates chaffs, I switch to a second fire group which uses only the railgun and the beam on the same side and switch to untargeted fire. Or if the target is a type 7 or bigger, I just stick close to them and ignore the chaffs.
And of course, if it comes to that, no amount of chaffing will stop 400 tons of imperial qualität to bask right into them at 400m/s.
