Best Ship for PVP Piracy

Clipper equiped with two class 3 gimballed beams and one class 2 railgun here. All three weapons are by default in a regular firegroup with the beams on primary and the rail on sec. When the target activates chaffs, I switch to a second fire group which uses only the railgun and the beam on the same side and switch to untargeted fire. Or if the target is a type 7 or bigger, I just stick close to them and ignore the chaffs.
And of course, if it comes to that, no amount of chaffing will stop 400 tons of imperial qualität to bask right into them at 400m/s.

Happens from time to time, sure. Just report them and move on. Maybe I was just lucky, but the regularity of combat logging appears to have drastically decreased lately. Haven't met a combat logger in awhile.

Not only is it less effective (in some cases, you actually remain in space for a few minutes, I got a warning about it once in a CZ) but I believe FD came out and said that combat logging is considered a punishable exploit. Better to lose a little cargo than to be permanently placed on the instances where the bad kids play.

I loved my time in the clipper. It had drawbacks but the main one for me was not being able to dock at outposts. I much prefer those as they fit the pirate lore better in my opinion. Other than that there isn't really a decent alternative pirate ship but then I haven't tried an orca personally.
