Patch Notes Update Beta 2.02 incoming

Okay update on my situation. Bought some commodities, exited station, lined myself up for Eranin threw me out of the server as jump was charging.

However by this point I have usually been kicked out when looking at the galaxy map or the market. Also did not get the black screen hang when exiting so deffo an improvement from an hour or so ago.

So it doesn't seem to be location related either. Who knows what the common denominator is?
I am happy that people who are getting in are reporting fewer disconnects now though, that augurs well.
Hopefully this will be resolved by tomorrow evening and I thank the Devs for trying their best at least. Can't ask anymore than that.

You mean less people are trying to play,and the server load is lower as its later tonight.

It looks to me the server(s) cant handle an influx of beta users,Im afraid to think how it will look on release day.I see this in every online game,If the server cant handle the load put on que system.
 
SC and Hyperdrive working fine. Maybe it is a hardware issue afterall just seems odd if some of us have no problems and others can't get through the door!

I'm on a i7-4790k 4.0Ghz with 16GB RAM and a GTX 980 4GB running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with a 50MB internet connection.

interesting they're not in the same place for everyone, no?
 
FWIW, you can't fault the dedication of the team at FD. They have provided a superhuman effort to get to the bottom of these issues. I take my hat off to them :cool:
 
getting better

Ive been playing for nearly a hour now with only a few problems.
When 1st starting the game there are no background its black. Landing on an outpost no problems been hyper spacing around & background star appear. I've also landed on a few station with little problems.
I still get disconnected from server from time to time.

But it is getting better. Give Ed people a pat on the back they are putting up with a lot of player moaning about carn't play the game boo who!!!
A!! moaner its the beta it will get better stop moaning & find out the bugs in the game then the guy & girl at ED can get them fix quicker.

its down to your install location preference

I always install to the raw hdd path on my 2nd hdd which happens to be my D drive
D:\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1002\Logs

Yeah I've wondered that. I have two different frontier folders in appdata with some tiny old logs, and the same folder tree in my install directory where it makes juicy 1gig logs.

Don't know if this is of any use, but when the menu freezes, my log file gets filled with these types of line over and over and over :

Creates a 100MB file within 10 seconds or so.

I've had no problems since 9:15pm
I did "log off machine" on the launcher and also validate game files.
Whether or not that is what help, I dont know.
But I hope this helps at least someone
 
Menu freeze and massive logs for me as above. Tried a complete uninstall, deleting all data in appdata folders too.

re-install and still the same issue.

Hopefully 2.03 will fly in tomorrow and sort this out :)

FWIW i did not have this in 2.01, i managed to get in and fly the docking tutorial.

Over 48hr slog for the dev team and then some, and I'm sure they are still smashing away now while we all sit and relax. This is Beta testing, if these problems annoy people then I suggest not buying in to betas.
