Patch Notes Update Beta 2.2 - Update 4

Always remember when heading out to Palin for the first time in Beta, take 1 fish with you... The miserly sod has a shop full and won't sell you any until you donate one to him :/

Don't ask me how I found this little PSA out...

Logging to menu and back also helps, he sells you the fish then.

Why would everyone run cabins? It takes up internal space, so there is a trade-off. They're not a free addition, you have to give up something else. But it would open up the passenger content to all the ships, small and large, and by adding all the classes also remove arbitrary penalties if, say, you can only spare a class 5 compartment but for no reason cabins only exist as class 4 and 6.

I see absolutely no downside to doing this and am still hoping the absense of most (non-luxury) cabin sizes is merely due to a lack of time to create them; I don't know the actual effort involved in making an internal module. I'd be entirely placated if FD just said "don't worry, we will add all the missing cabin sizes in a minor update at a later point", but the silence about the issue makes me wonder whether this is deliberate - and if so: what were they thinking?

In fairness, Sandro did mention that they are looking very closely at doing this. Thing is, I don't think luxury cabins should be available below a certain class, and even first class might have to be somewhat limited. That is just IMO though.

This does not appear to be a typical problem, never had it. You might consider if there is something wrong on your computer (just one possible option). Mainboard, cabling, RAM, harddrive, power supply issues all may cause intermittent corrupt reads or writes. Been there, got the T-Shirt.

Ahem, the opposite? I believe they got the message and are now testing a major change to address it. The TL,DR version: heat weapons now only get you to a maximum of 95%, no matter how many are used against you.

The problem seems to be something to do with our ISP......but it isn't a problem with any other games I download. So weird!!!

....:O....

Face hugger.....or Tribble?!?! ;)

I'd like to at least see the ability to use fuel scoops and AFMUs on the locked down slots on the Beluga. Kind of wrecks long distance tourism the way it is now.

Unfortunately that doesn't work and yes I have just tried it. I've been through this same situation for about the last 3 or 4 beta's and I have a list of things to try from past support tickets like clearing cache of your browser, deleting the *.part and *.progress files etc etc but the trend is that nothing solves the issue and I end up having to ask support for the files. Pretty much it ends up I spend a week or so getting the beta up and running and then by the time I can actually try to have a go and look at it, the build gets released into stable.

Delete it - then revalidate game files - a replacement should be downloaded.

You won't need the fuel scoop as often now you can fit a class 7 (128t) fuel tank but when you do scoop you`ll have to wait longer if you let it run dry. :)

I really hope passenger mission distance/time/reward gets a tweak (along with numerous UI things in general such as all that clutter).
I've maxxed out a Beluga with Grade 5 FSD increase and I was lucky after 30 odd tries to get 30.8ly jump range.
Even on the shorter distance missions (1.5-1.6k) that's around 55 jumps with an unloaded ship - one way. So that's what, a 3hr round trip ?
Financially it's not worth it atm imo.

Scorched earth policy. Had to find hidden files and delete the beta test build and redownload. Looking forward to testing.

Welp, I love the update and detail....however, when collecting cargo in the SRV, I've noticed that only 2 canisters ever show up when you go to transfer cargo and when I go to board my ASP Explorer it glitches (disconnects from server). When I return the top half of the SRV doesn't render and I have to re-log just to see the UI in the SRV, when I board the ship all the cargo I just spent an hour collecting disappears. Any Suggestions?

How are you guys (FD) doing this Beta CG? I see it measures as per tonne. Maybe renaming that to units would be better? Surely we don't carry even one tonne in our suits. It doesn't seem to be exact one for one either, so what's up? I put 20 of one type, and 10 of another etc etc (whatever was already in my mats selection) and somehow it added up to 20 tones.

nerf to PackHounds to stop them being so superior to other missiles

Packhounds are nerfed.. Faaaantastic [mad]

Meaning all those hours of testing and balancing we did back at 2.1 beta was all for nothing. At least you should've given them more reserve ammo or make them generate less heat.

Btw, neutron star/white dwarf boost is also confirmed (despite not mentioned in changelog).

Report this as bug for them to fix. Yeah, those ain't tons, but units.
