Wow! What a huge list of changes and fixes!
Congrats FDEV!

I hope you add Alliances next, so we can fly with friends, slave our drives together.

Michael Brooks, or anyone at Frontier:

- Support for starports in supercruise added

What does this mean? Does it mean we get a smooth transition from supercruise to the station?
It ruins a little of the immersion when the transition isn't smooth.

Loving the update, the voice comms is a bit ropey at the moment. Incomig call alert sounds repeating even after accepted.

Sometimes on an open voice channel, one cant hear the other and vise versa.

Absolutely love how the space station slides in towards you when you exit supercruise :) If that process and the hyperspace and entering rings cut scene process could be made less obvious (seamless transition), maybe by way of caching the process more ? Would be perfect !!!!!

It means the transition has been improved, not perfect yet though.

I think this may be a known bug. It can happen after going in to the Galaxy Map and upon exitting the thruster and Hyperdrive buttons don't work. Pressing and releasing "UI Focus" key seems to unblock the buttons and make them work again. Try that.

It may or may not be the same issue.

Thanks. Will give it a go! :)

I love the new update, the new AI voice is pretty nice and sounds better than the old one. Same goes for those smoother transitions from supercruise to normal flight that no longer look like you've been teleported.

What I don't like though is the removal of the effects the UI had when looking at the two screens for Missions/Navigation and Ship/Commander Status. Now they just pop up, even though the original sound clip is still there, and it looks all wrong. I even disabled and reenabled UI effects in the options menu to see if there's any difference.

Michael, transition is very big step forward and thank you guys for that. Another very small issue is supercruise orbital lines suddenly disappearing, that also gives away some flickering going on. How about very short fade out? Please make it happen :)

darn it i'm at work boo want to go home and play this. Darn it kids got football tonight grr wont get on for at least 8hrs.
Well done guys.

Is the Gammer out tomorrow? How much different will it be to 3.9? What is the point of 3.9 yesterday and gammer tomorrow?

Am I blind or is there still no trading option between players? :/

Was hoping for this one, especially after reading, that multiple pilots can voice comm with each other now.

@Maxunit
You can now drop you cargo without it being marked as stolen. I guess that once they implement docking between ships, you will be able to transfer cargo more easily. Although you really ought to be able to do it at a station already.

To catch any showstoppers before adding another batch of new players. There's also some goodies in the gamma build.

I'm happy to say that the supercruise stutters seem to be all but gone for me. Great stuff!

Just a cosmetic thing, though: when approaching a planet the bright dot representing the planet at long distances is visible for too long. Meaning: the actual planet is already clearly visible but it still has this bright spot in the middle of its disc that only disappears when you get even closer.

Oh dear. While this was *a* solution to people's complaints, it's an unnecessarily complicated solution (not good for new players). The better solution would be for the context-sensitive key to simply put you into SuperCruise, when a planet got in the way of you Hyperspacing to the next star system.

New players should always check controls in options first, and so should us old users after an update.
.
Not checking the control/key layout if you are new to game is just being a total numwit idiot.

SC and Hyperspace need to have the option of binding to the same key/button. Those of us without all the bells and whistles of a HOTAS are fast running out of buttons!

You can.
