ransfer is a process that happens when one person's PC has control of an AI ship or station, and they leave the session (eg hyperjump out, or die in flames) - the PCs negotiate transfer of control to another machine in the session.

So does this mean that clients in an instance divy up "control" of the various non-player game entities amongst them (as opposed to a single client being the controller for the instance I guess).

Yes, it does (won't dig up reference, but it's common knowledge now). They however have system which offloads NPCs from weak hosts (since Alpha 3) as I remember. Source hchalkley himself :)

Thanks.
Did you notice the problem with the system names on the mission description?
It's not being shown correctly once accepting hunting missions (vs pirates or vs factions).
It's a problem with the ',' (comma) or ' ' (space) characters, I guess.

Mission reward

hi folks, i flew some cargo missions and didnt get the rewards for. i flew back to the mission station open bulletin site but no tab for gaining the reward! lost a lot of money this way.

Something seems to be bottlenecking now near stations, I'm getting horrible FPS there and the load on my GFX is dropping too now.
Weird is that the load on the CPU doesn't go up as exchange.

As soon as I get the station out of sight are the FPS going up again, and I know the stations have rather much detail that costs rendering power but this is worse than before.
Way worse, even down in the hangar when I get a close up look on my weapons is it dropping much.

Halp!

Okay so... unfortunately Windows 8.1 crashed whilst the upgrade was occurring (nothing to do with the upgrade) and upon a reboot and restart of the client, I resumed the upgrade, but it appears that one of the files has become corrupt so the upgrade stops with a popup window saying "Unhandled exception during project upgrade: Index was outside the bounds of the array."

Uninstalling/re-installing only affected the client files - not the files that are downloaded by the client, so my question is; where are the files-downloaded-by-the-client stored, so that I can remove them and force their re-download by the client?

EDIT: Never mind I think I found them in AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products

Yes, that is correct - if we didn't do that, one players machine would be slowed down by the cpu load and also network load

Good to know, thanks a lot for this insight. Would explain why some NPCs seem to warp about a bit while others fly smoothly.

FD you are truly fantastic and thank you for the option to turn off lens flare.

(You just have to love when something you request gets implemented).

Great, when will the anti-aliasing be fixed?
Wierd - I was just thinking it is better than before - maybe it depends on the graphics card?
