Game Discussions Bethesda Softworks Starfield Space RPG

I bet my fine feathers that not only will it be better than Oddy at launch, it'll be better than Oddy today!

Ofc it will, especially the multiplayer, bgs and the starforge

Sarcasm aside, i really hope it will be a good game, but it wont be comparable to Elite and it would definitely not be able to keep me busy over 3 accounts for 8000+ hours

Awesome news, but a shame the company is not from Europe, else would have released on June 9th ;)
Actually, I'm hopeful regarding this game because it is not from Europe, given my experiences with the developers of Elite. But TBH I'm still playing and enjoying X4 so it appears that not all space games from across the pond are bad. Fingers crossed on this one. (y)

Well, from one who really disliked all that you mentioned, I am optimistic. So to each their own.

Anyone taking bets on if it will be worse than Oddy's launch?

i hope it wont be that bad, but i wont preorder either and probably i will get it after most bugs were ironed out and it gets at least 50% discount - as i did with CP2077 (which i still havent got to install and give it a spin)

I also hope it won't be as bad as Elite. Interesting that people here are complaining about a game that hasn't released yet, but play this bug-riddled game. Played Elite for years and they never fixed most of the bugs that people complained about. Probably still haven't. They did however, introduce new ones in each release. Maybe as 'features'? :ROFLMAO:

That means an always evolving game :)

I'm realy looking forward to Starfield and can't wait untill September.
I realise that I probably won't be able to get 4000+ hours into it like I did with ED but it'll still be a long ride I guess.
Bethesda games are made to last even though they are single player, the modding community is huge and add an incredible amount of content, just look at Skyrim and Fallout.

It's been a long time since I was hyped for a game, ED/Frontier taught me a hard lesson regarding getting hyped, but Starfield is realy something to look forward too imo.

I agree. Starfield 1,2,3,4,5 ....

I'm going to play StarField, for sure, if it sucks well I can only blame myself for buying it, that being said, SC and ED didn't give me that Space RPG I wanted, so lets see if SF will. ED need game loops that is much more interesting than what we got and SC is just one big money pit.

I am still curiose to see the space part of Starfield. Bethesda has a lot of games set on ground, but not in space.

Yeah, I don't actually expect a "space part" - I expect a space setting. What they do with the ship, I dunno. Starfield is an RPG, I expect. If there is any spacey sim part I would be a bit surprised. I think it might be like in Warframe.

Mass Effect was a space game as well 😇
