Beyond Initial Feedback

Just to confirm. Engineering is dead to me. I used to be addicted to it, stay up all night thinking about it, and enjoying it.
The new state of material-sink is pure horrible. I'm sorry, but as far as I'm concerned Sandro should go and be a piece of furniture in a government department somewhere instead of ruining facets of Elite Dangerous.

I've been material farming pretty heavily since Beyond launched. This includes doing what I hate most and taking limpet collectors into Haz Res sites.
But now the money-shot.

With the 2.4 Engineering: I could have engineered some class 3 thrusters straight away and had 4 rolls to get a satisfactory result.

Now with Sandro's Material Sink 3.0, a 100% grade 5 result requires 9-12 rolls (give or take). How many materials now??? Seriously??? ...As you can see I am once again short on materials. And have to fly around aimlessly in an outbreak system to find a randomly generated high grade signal source. GET REAL. This is rubbish. And the mission reward alternative isn't any better. This isn't game play - it's rubbish.

To recap my experience with engineering to date has been not enough materials to grade 3 a laser, not enough to engineer a heat-sink, and not enough to engineer thrusters. I'm glad I'm going into beyond with 3 x fully engineered federal piggies, because I'd rather get by a pack of alsatians than deal with this material sink / time sink rubbish. Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. Peace out.
