BGS advice on reducing faction influence

Can someone give me the low down on how you reduce influence of a faction present within the system?

I am aware if you kill the system police it reduces the influence, but what are the other methods, etc, etc ?

I'm trying to do the same thing right now OP!
While there are a few options available, it seems that going on a 'murder spree' is by far the most efficient way (although I'm certainly open to alternative suggestions!)
...just watch out for that notoriety...and the ATR! Yikes!

To be fair - negative BGS manipulation is still kind of new to me - I'm sure others know more, but your in luck...
I recorded my run-in with the ATR last night...

In answer to your other question - only took me 15 mins to max out my notoriety...be careful about dying with huge bounties on you though - I recommend a fast ship. o7
