Newcomer / Intro Binding woes

For some reason my bindings keep changing in the presets when I come back to the game at a later date. When I start or resume the game I know have to go to options, controls and make sure that I have the correct preset. I assume that in my bindings folder that the most recent entry is the default settings according to date.

If all your controllers aren't plugged in (or even detected) before you start the game, it defaults to the presets of whatever the game does detect.

Create all your binds as you want/need them, then make up a copy of the binds file. At least this way you can just copy it back if you fave the issue again.

From your last post, it sounds - and forgive me if I'm wrong - that you unplug your controllers. What happens if you leave them plugged in, play the game (with your binds applied), then switch off/reboot and try the game again?

Some controllers require full amperage from a USB port that some computers provide. Others not so much. Many mother boards divide this power versus having full amperage to each port. Using a powered USB hub with amperage for each then sending it to the PC resolves these issues.

I'm not sure with your issues as the game can still see the controllers then selecting them in options. On the other hand switching from Legacy, Live and Odyssey this happens all the time with my awesome powered USB hub. It is more about Frontier programming having issues between starting different versions of the game then what hardware is used to play it. If you launch say Odyssey all the time it should never happen.

Regards

Running an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 16gbram, with an entry level Radeon RX 550 GPU 2gb, Computer came like that from HP for $500.00 Couldnt pass it up. When upgrading to a better card I have to upgrade the power supply as well with limited space. The xbox controller goes directly to the usb.

XBox controllers shouldn't show any power issues. But (at least with one of mine) it's occasionally surprising me by requiring to be switched on independently, even if I use the wired (USB) connection.
As a side note: the USB (2.0) power is not depending on the PSU (or rather, if it is, you'd have other, bigger problems) but on the power handling capability of the USB circuitry on your mobo. It would be a different issue for a USB C/3.x connection with PD capabilities. But I'm not aware of any game controller requiring USB 3.
