Astronomy / Space Black hole planetary systems: Hutton Orbital is instant gratification

When examining environments around black holes where extremely large amounts of matter could gather, some bright heads came to the conclusion that they could in theory produce quite extensive planetary systems.

“Our calculations show that tens of thousands of planets with 10 times the mass of the Earth could be formed around 10 light-years from a black hole,”

Imagine getting a mission to one of those.

Kind of makes sense, doesn't it?
With all the material orbiting a BH, it could be considered a "sped-up" solar system when comes to planetary coalescence.

I wouldn't want to live there, though. I guess the environment there would be quite... violent. Planets being created and destroyed in equal measures.
